It's how the Salafis characterize themselves, in word, purpose and action, and a direction denounced Islamic clerics. I can't imagine how you figure any of that is about race, including your views. But the reporter told it like it was. If anything, the headline is misleading (fault of the editor), implying a broader group than the perpetrators includes.
