I heard this was caused by Mubarek's people who don't like democracy because life was better when they were in charge and they want to go back to the old days so they are stirring up trouble for the new government.

I also heard the Egyptian government is going to tighten up security to prevent this kind of event happening again in the future.

Pa the point is...no one knows if this person was abducted or not... there was a street riot instigated by Muslims against Christian churches because of an unsubstantiated claim.

Even if there was an abduction it is the duty of the police not a mob. This was one religion against another plain and simple.

It would be different if it were one instance of mob rule in Egypt but there have been many. To close our eyes to and make excuses for religious persecution is deplorable.

Now again…I am not saying all Muslims are against religious freedom but there is a particular radical portion that is and this should be pointed out without prejudice against Sanity for posting facts.

We can only hope... but it will take more than security to solve this problem... There needs to be an effort by the government and religious leaders to promote freedom of religion and mutual respect.

I am trying to understand the mindset of those who ordinarily bash Christians, post with venomous hate towards all things relevant to Christianity, yet... see fit to present themselves as blind apologists for this very grievous crime committed by, lets call them Islamic fundamentalists for now

Not getting a lot of help either, I am seeing a lot of hate and ugly attitude but no reasoned discussion

Imagine burning a black church in America because of an interracial marriage, or even the allegation that a white woman was kidnapped by a black. This is the equivalent to what happened in Egypt yet certain ones here would like nothing more than to have the ability to force me to shut up about it

Mosque burning is just as bad, I agree with that. I hadnt heard those stories from Indonesia, I would like to know more about them, the details.

In Indonesia there have been burnings of places of worship of both religions. I think we can agree all are deplorable.

But this instance you linked to should not be dismissed only because you did not link a mosque being burned are did not emphasize the possibility of an abduction. There is no excuse or reason except for religious persecution period…at least in my way of thinking.

I hate to say it but I get the idea that if a different person had posted that link there would have been a different response and thats not right.

Just run a search on Google for church burning in Indonesia there are many. I ran a search for burning mosques and found a few of those too but they were one Muslim sect burning the mosque of another.

I could post links if you think it necessary.

I do remember however religious riots in Indonesia where whole towns burned and killed each other… I’m sure with a little time I could find a link to the stories.
