Ron Paul is the only guy who will fix these problems.

First he'll have to learn to separate fantasy from reality.

I am excited that he will restore Glass-Steagall.

Leftists caused the housing bubble

So your happy with a housing bubble that forces prices to the point where average people can't afford to buy a home in the area they live.  This leads to people using risky mortgages with ridicules ARMs just to get into a house hoping something good will happen before the increases.

This leading to the disaster that follows when the bubble burst because of over the top pricing and failure of borrowers to meet the increase in payments.

That about sum it up?

This is a side show, RP has no chance of being nominated much less elected president.

You have nothing else than this old tired bullshit ? It never ends does it ? Facts just get in the way. So-called leftists had nothing whatever to do with Bush & Co. and their cohorts preventing all 50 states atty generals from going after the scum that wrote and sold those mortgages. Countrywide was the dominant player in writing bogus paper about which the 'left' could do nothing.

When the right go on their normal corrupt ways...there is no stopping them. This points out how for the right, it is all about going after the left and not their own scum.

Can't they find a worse candidate? Maybe Chuck Norriss is busy or something...

Nugent has expressed an interest?

Most of the cons here seem to like Ted the molester.

What about his chances?

If he killed the Republican party, does that mean he'd have to eat it?

Not true, there was no response at all to the second post

as long as countries still use gold you can get pretty close and "real" inflation is out there.

speculation on lifes necessities should be outlawed

dubya cut oil loose in 2001

Correct if only because like Reagan and Kennedy, he would prefer to stay alive. Kennedy didn't, Reagan got very lucky. So let's respond to reality...which one ?

I've already given you an answer,  you returned with the same crap which was wrong when you first posted.

It is always entertaining when you insist that disagreement with your "made up" facts is off topic.

If you actually wanted to have a discussion why not start a thread and stop hijacking this one.

Regulated, yes. Outlawed, no.

Futures contracts allow farmers to plant without taking huge economic risks, passing that risk to the speculator, one in a position presumably to better take that risk by spreading investment over many areas.

and they are heavily speculating at your peril, hence the need for reigning in their fear profits.

Musicmystery -> RE: BREAKING: Ron Paul to Announce Presidential Candidacy Friday Morning on ABC Good Morning America 7 (5/13/2011 6:59:47 AM)

I believe that would be called....regulation.

Moonhead -> RE: BREAKING: Ron Paul to Announce Presidential Candidacy Friday Morning on ABC Good Morning America (5/13/2011 7:02:36 AM)

It's also called "evil", at least around here. Regulation is a Marxist assault on the free flow of capitalism designed to punish the wealthy investor and stop his money trickling down to where it's needed*...

*(Thailand, China, Germany and France.)

mnottertail -> RE: BREAKING: Ron Paul to Announce Presidential Candidacy Friday Morning on ABC Good Morning America 7 (5/13/2011 7:02:37 AM)

Not outlawing? Not socialism?

so does a loan.

speculators are PARASITES

No, it doesn't. Farming is vulnerable to a host of weather and pest problems, several of which can cripple a year's crop.

A futures contract allows the farmer a workable price, guaranteed, giving him a reason to take out that loan and plant.

speculation is betting and places a "fictitious" prices based on their gambling.

Now that part is true. It's why I favor regulation.

Not really fictitious, though, as they'd simply get burned in the market. But when, like now, investors are looking for potential high-returns as alternatives to the stock market, demand does drive up prices.

Prices can also fall...burning the speculators.
