Dear Najakcharmer, Ladies and Gentlemen;
I've taken it a bit further, to which having worked with "balls" -- I suppose I have been blessed with the experiences of working with cowboys and "steers and bulls," to which removal of said "balls" was a procedure done by vets and cowboys also. So, I have been blessed with the looks and textures. That said, I take a couple of eggs and boil them, peel; then dunk them in some dark left over Easter Egg blue dye so it creates a blue cast color. Then take red food dye and paint a few deep red veins. I then put it into a jar, filling it with clear or yellowish syrup and or oil that is thick. I also take apple sauce and spoon about 1 cup's worth into suran wrap, twist and tie off and put that into another jar.
I have that all ready to pull out for my props. Then, like you I do the prep for surgery. Ice around the genitals, handsoap soak on a old credit card or back of a plastic knife, drag and feels like blood if its pre-warmed. Can use shampoo also. I also make a _/\_ out of a good length of duct tape and put it over the site where I'm to cut when its a tad numb from the ice. I take a a big needle and thread, something like sewing leather and then I do "sew up" by punching through the /\ part, which the __ part draws the skin together, as a sensation of being stitched up. So, by time the "victim" is sewn the duct tape will look like _||_; the mind and sensories do so much for those with creative minds.
I'm sure there are others out there that have similar ideas and I do hope they'll share.
When the scene is to end, pop off the blind fold and they can see the nuts and inside of what nuts look like in a jar. The look is priceless. The first thing they grab for is their... well, everybody gets the idea.
