there are those who have to be centre of attention, some alittle loud and over baring, someone whining the music is too loud and the bar too expencive, a welcoming crowd that asks if you are ok, the know-it-all, the gossip, and the reserved sat in the corner, and those with a stick up their backside being pedantic about how the food is set out. Question is, which are you? lol in real life in a room full of people i don't know? i'm going to be the reserved one sussing everyone out first. i'm like that in general though. then i'll say my bit and generally people look at me gone out because i don't say what they expect. i am strong on my opinions simply because for 18 years i wasn't allowed one, or certainly not to voice it anyway. but once i know people i'm pretty open about stuff but prefer to still just sit around chatting rather than being flamboyent and drawing major attention to myself. quote:
so with that in mind i work like this; i know i won't agree with everyone, that they won't always agree with me, i don't mind debating but can't be doing with people who get petty and insulting when they can't get a point over, i will leave a debate in the thread it's in, i may well be in total agreement with that person in the next thread i visit, i accept that i'm strange and don't work the same way as others, so that may mean that they don't get me or me them, i may over time form a negative opinion of someone online, but i would always keep that in reserve if i were to meet that person in real life. Kinda my experience here, although some people hold grudges longer than others don't they just. some could do with lightening up and realising that debate can be good, it doesn't mean you have to change your opinion though, just maybe understand the other person's point better. resulting to petty insult shows alot about someone's inner self though. quote:
as for longevity holding more sway. no, not always. it can work out handy though. for instance; when i first joined i had a very nice person from here pm me and give me some pointers, including a list of people deemed alright and a few to take with a pinch of salt. it was good to have someone there that when i had a query i could ask for their imput as to whether i was right. Shit, here I have over 18k posts, and I thought some day that would entitle me to be worshiped around here, and now you are telling me that was an utter waste of time! hehe, not a waste of time at all. the more i read of your posts the more i like. i'm not saying i agree with everything, but there is alot to like. will a token candle lighting do rather than me dancing naked round a fire in my back garden chanting your name?
