Ramping up his campaigning for 2012 he has apparently decided to forego the Zionist vote for the anti-Semitic vote. At least he has apparently learned to count.

The other thread we've had about this is better, sweetie.
Try harder in future.

What is interesting is the viewpoint that is taken by the politically inept.  They seem to scream death and destruction, the sky is falling, we'll all be killed.  But they never have fact at their disposal, not even credible argumentation.

But the 'throwing under the bus' intimates that at one time you championed exactly what you are denigrating.

Here we have a rather nasty Bennie Netanyahu who needs a little slap around, and Obama putting forth a reasonable (and in some respects draconian proposal) and does not give away the store to one side or another at the outset.

I don't get what runs thru the minds of people who are unaware but post prolifically as though their untutored outbursts were a thing of beauty.

I mean hell, we've given Japan, Germany and Italy back...we ally ourselves with thier and our interests quite often, no matter how tenuously.

True, never believed Obama wanted a united Jerusalem, and this stance will probably get him a much needed renewed boost from the leftwing now as they have been disappointed with his time in govt. I know many hate the place with a passion but have to say I never had an issue with it. Guess its just a matter of time til its snuffed out without US support.

Just a little reminder and perspective...the Israelis and the Palestinians by 1967 and for 20 years since the UN res. creating her had little land in what is described as the 'West Bank'...shared Jerusalem and had taken over basically...where the British left.

But the Arab community and Palestine had never recognized Israel and in those 20 years...nothing much had changed. Eventually from Jordan, Syria (who shelled Israel from the Golan Heights for 15 years) and Egypt, the Israelis saw that all of her neighbors were closing in on her and acted all 'Roman'...Your enemies can't conquer (destroy) you because you are too busy conquering them. So the Israelis in 1967 went into the West Bank, took more land and all of Jerusalem consolidated the Sinai peninsula.. (since given back via treaty with Egypt)

So Obama's suggestion is and has been by many before him. Go back to the 67 borders, share Jerusalem and stop the fighting because you are all going to...exist.

This is a test for the Arabs in general and the Palestinians in particular. Will a consensus build large and long enough among the Arabs and in Palestine (if it matters anymore) to marginalize Iran, Hamas and the rest and get a deal done ?

I am thinking that these groups and their sponsor Iran, none giving a damn about Palestine and the so-called Palestinian question...will not buy this because their actions have very little to do with Palestinian statehood. If Palestine had become a fucking Beverly Hills, it wouldn't matter to those groups because they are at war with Israel and will remain so...forever.

They can't be, though: they're Republicans, and everything bad in government that ever there was was done by a Democrat.

Pretty much anything stupid gets past the neo-con controlled HOR. It just doesn't make it to the POTUS pen because the Senate has sense enough to laugh at it and vote it down.  Even a few of the republicans up there got some sense.

Israel Expects Obama to Take Back ‘1967 Lines’ Demand

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was quick on the draw Thursday in voicing clear displeasure with President Barack Obama’s mideast policy speech.

“Israel appreciates President Obama’s commitment to peace,” the response began, curtly. “Israel believes that for peace to endure between Israelis and Palestinians, the viability of a Palestinian state cannot come at the expense of the viability of the one and only Jewish state.”

“That is why Prime Minister Netanyahu expects to hear a reaffirmation from President Obama of U.S. commitments made to Israel in 2004, which were overwhelmingly supported by both Houses of Congress.”

“Among other things,” Netanyahu reminded Obama, “those commitments relate to Israel not having to withdraw to the 1967 lines which are both indefensible and which would leave major Israeli population centers in Judea and Samaria beyond those lines.”

Bennie's rhetoric is slipping like a motherfucker,  there is one and only one Jewish state, and none and only none Palestinian state.  So, for there to be one and only one Palestinian state where there once was...........

But I don't quite make out the viability nebulousness in his stuff.

Yes but Egypt was preparing to attack Israel from a demilitarised zone when Israel struck them. Then Jordan got involved and Israel struck back in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. It was a war on two fronts for a small strip of land. Sadly I doubt the Palers will turn their back on Hamas, Iran... Just last month there was a Hamas unity deal with Fatah.

I wonder how this will cost  the Dems in Jewish voters and financial support

It may be substantial

Especially if its a shift of support, and not just a withdrawl, and it goes the other way towards the Republicans

I personally think Obama is pissing everybody off

The Muslims and the Jews as well as the anti Zionists

The environmentalists and the industrialists

And so on

It may all add up to an erosion of support that could have an effect for years

Chicago is a large Jewish population (and his 'hometown') s as is NYC.  But I don't think that a peace proposal thrown out for the IPs would be seen as  a messa mashee af deer.

Moeglich, ich weiss nicht, oder?

It will cost him somewhat in financial support, since the biggest Jewish donors tend to be Zionist, but he'll still raise his billion dollars. And as Ive said, its a net gain in voters. Militant Zionist Jews are far outnumbered by the anti-Semitic crowd he's pandering to. It's just another arrow in his quiver of race/class warfare.

The racists always want to play this one as anti-semitic, and have since the invention of the ostensible current usage of that word.
