i also use the bags for liners for small trash cans, like in the bathroom or next to my desk, and as poo pick-up bags when i take my dog for walks. in shows where i have a lot of costume changes, i put each costume in a separate bag, and then put all the bags together in my BIG bag, that way they stay organized.

Chatte, how about buying the small snack size ziploc bags and using those or the spice bottles at the dollar store, they're usually 4/$1.00, that way you can use them over, ziplocs can be washed and so can the bottles.  Just make sure to have the bulk store weigh the bottle before you get the spices if you go that route.  Hope that helps.

Hi Celeste!

I'm like Greedy, I use the bags for litter box cleaning and like Celeste will line the wastebaskets with them.
As for the one's that suffered leakage, I'll toss those.

Potty! Long time no see. WB.

I see people using the cloth ones and I shudder. Because they're putting raw fruits and vegetables into a bag which had raw chicken three days before. Talk about cross contamination! If you reuse bags, you have to wash them between times or color code them so the ones used for meat aren't used for anything else. Especially important if you have small children, elderly or anyone with a compromised immune system.

I try to never have store bags around. I do not throw plastic bags away, but I do use reusable bags. I have lots of them. I like them because they hold more stuff, they are easier to carry, and they are more durable. I am pretty much fanatical about using them because they are much more environmentally friendly.

The problem with using re-usable bags for groceries is that they need to be washed every time.

Only for meat purchases.... I try to put all of my meat into one bag and then I wash only that one

Good for you. Most people don't even think about that. They just throw all the bags back into the trunk without thinking.

Yes, I do recyle bags. I am actually saving my Target bags to make a skirt similar to this one. Once I get enough bags it should be fairly simple to make.
Here are more recycle clothes & there are other websites too of recycle clothes-

For those active in the Needles and Hooks thread, you can use those plastic bags for knitting and crochet [:D]

Cool! I never thought about using bags to make yarn and this shows how to cut the bags. But... if I am going to the trouble of doing that and knitting/crocheting, its gonna be a to make a sexy halter top or something like that. [:)]
