Barnes and Noble is insisting Dossier magazine's new issue be porno-wrapped because of the image of Andrej Pejic shirtless on the cover.

Personally, I've always thought Pejic to be brilliantly, coruscatingly hot and this controversy is probably going to be wonderful for his career!

This is dumb...just plain dumb. but you're right, his publicist couldn't have planned it better. I mean I've never even heard of him or that magazine, and I'm sure most folks haven't before this story...but they have now!!

And you're right, he is hot!! I especially like these shots....

Never heard of him, but I looked at the picture and thought it was an underage female. So I can understand their concern.

I agree Des. The fashion mags can push the limits... retailers have to worry about the conservative attitudes of their shoppers.

Yep that's the social justification but in reality it's pure and utter bigoted conservatism. We don't want people not knowing their roles do we?

Its actually a company trying to make a profit and not wanting to upset mommy with junior in tow.

Unless, of course, you are advocating the addition of stripper poles in kindergarten? I mean, if we are gonna get all "its a bigoted conservatism" then lets go all the way.

If Barnes and Noble only had to cater to your whims, that would be one thing. They are a business.

Perhaps they should cater for the people that are actually going to buy rather than the ones that find a reason to object to anything trending away from the norm? It's a thought provoking image similar to what you are hoping to be confronted with when you visit art galleries. I don't see the big deal, it's a complete over reaction.

They don't cater for my whims I'm not their target audience but in terms of this publication probably nor is some conservative housewife with kid in tow. This is bad business because opaque packaging doesn't let you provoke any kind of interest in your product.

I never thought I'd be saying this, but I'm with Barnes and Noble.

I am against the sexualisation of images that appear to be of underage models. Normally said images tend to be of women pretending to be girls. I don't see why the fact that the model happens to have a cock should make any difference to that. Sexual images deliberately made to look childlike are not ok in my book, and fuck whoever the magazine's aimed at.

After all the media attention? This magazine wont have too, people will flock in just to buy it.

I guess it is provocative so I can understand their concern but really I wonder if its more about him being a transvestite in a sexualised image than actually being mistaken for a topless woman?
