sunshinemiss, I believe that the ads are evoked by a java applet when you open the CM page. So, Firefox with the "NOScript" add-on would allow you to control them from showing on your page. I do not know if it does this by preventing them from being called upon. If it does it could be what you need, I am not knowledgable enough to know. I think it might because when I run this combination on an old PII computer it runs faster. As if it was doing less work. And the ads do not show unless I permit them to load. I do not know if CM is on the Korea official "no no list", if it is then I do not know what you could do.
