Might want to explain this is based upon your experience. Mine is based upon dating three preachers' sons... the first one was the one who introduced me to handcuffs. The second, to anal, the third to doggie style... and I introduced them all to a finger up their ass while giving them blow jobs.

Never once did I consider my grandfather wanted to watch his granddaughter having sex... how creepy is that thought. And never once did I consider those men sexually repressed because of guilt.

How I do love the assumptions though.

This just can't make any sense. Lumping Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Catholics, Buddhists, Hindus, etc. into one huge lump and ascribing qualities to them makes no sense. I'd suspect that it might have some validity if you separated out religions and sects and compared them to atheists, but otherwise, no way.

According to the poll results, Atheists had a 21% divorce rate

The Barna Research Group, an evangelical Christian organization that does surveys and research to better understand what Christians believe and how they behave, studied divorce rates in America in 1999 and found surprising evidence that divorce is far lower among atheists than among conservative Christians — exactly the opposite of what they were probably expecting.

11% of all American adults are divorced
25% of all American adults have had at least one divorce

27% of born-again Christians have had at least one divorce
24% of all non-born-again Christians have been divorced

21% of atheists have been divorced
21% of Catholics and Lutherans have been divorced
24% of Mormons have been divorced
25% of mainstream Protestants have been divorced
29% of Baptists have been divorced
24% of nondenominational, independent Protestants have been divorced

27% of people in the South and Midwest have been divorced
26% of people in the West have been divorced
19% of people in the Northwest and Northeast have been divorced

Are we really comparing apples to apples here?

Atheists - 5% of the population has a 21% divorce rate.

Out of all the religions listed, only one has more than a 4% spread.

In most polls, that can easily be the margin of error.

We're talking about the same study here, that shows divorce rates among fundamentalists as being much higher than even the National average.

Bible belt extends beyond that cites areas...

The name "Bible Belt" has been applied historically to the South and parts of the Midwest, but is more commonly identified with the South. In a 1961 study, Wilbur Zielinkski delineated the region as the area in which Baptist denominations are the predominant religious affiliation. The region thus defined included most of the Southern United States, including most of Texas and Oklahoma in the southwest, and in the states south of the Ohio River, and extending east to include central West Virginia, Virginia south of Northern Virginia, and parts of Maryland. In addition, the Bible Belt covers parts of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. A 1978 study by Charles Heatwole identified the Bible Belt as the region dominated by 24 fundamentalist Protestant denominations, corresponding to essentially the same area mapped by Zielinski.[3]

Now, beyond that, the national marriage rate in 2009 was 6.8%
The divorce rate was 3.5%, excluding California, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Louisiana, and Minnesota.

Seems to me 51.2% national average.

Of course, I would find it difficult to ascribe this strictly to the simple belief in a god of some sort, I suspect it's something more to do with other externalities associated with organized religion, it's one more thing to fight about for one thing, and for another there is a longer list of reasons to get a divorce: porn "addiction", gender bending, friction about the rationale for sex in general, i.e., for reproduction only vs., bonding, etc.

What isnt meshing? Did I offer the Jewish rate of divorce? Nope. It wasnt cited in the atheist site.
