Well well well....

Good news.

For the economy and for all Americans.

And now that the spring spike is over,gas prices should continue to fall.....all the way to November....[:D]

Great news!

I think Americans have this line that we just are unwilling to pay more for gas... that line is 4 dollars. Once it hits 4 we cut way back far on our gas consumption... which hurts the rest of the economy..

We need to get off the oil

Yes. Renewable alt. energy,ASAP until we get to 50-50.Then shot for 60% clean-alt to 40% fossil and so on.

It`s possible.

All we require is the will to do it.

The price of gas has only "dropped" about 8 cents a gallon, in my area, so excuse me for not doing a jig just yet.

I am still not convinced that it won't rise over the summer.

Now, if/when it goes down at least $1 a gallon, that will make more of a difference, to me.

I am wondering if I will ever see $2-$3 a gallon gas again!

For some reason, I think the NEW low price will settle around $3.50 a gallon and people will just be glad it's not $4 a gallon.

It went from just over 4 to 3.60 today in north Jersey.It`ll go down more.

It`s good news.Certainly better than gas prices go up.

Stock futures rebound after selloff, crude oil rises (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Stock index futures rose on Tuesday, with higher oil prices leading a rebound from the previous session when stocks closed at their lowest in a month.

Rising concerns about the euro-zone debt pressured equities on Monday. While those headwinds remain, markets have steadied following a decline of more than 1 percent. European shares rose 0.25 percent.

Both U.S. crude and Brent futures rose 1.3 percent after Goldman Sachs raised its forecast for oil, citing strong fuel demand growth.

It seems that oil goes down if the economy hiccups because the worse the economy the lower the demand

But

If the economy tries to take off a little bit oil shoots up due to increased demand and chokes any rebound off again

Which is why Washington needs to ease up on some of its overzealous use of red tape which is throttling a lot of oil production back

The supply vs. the demand is so tight the entire economy is being choked back

Just saw this morning that it dropped to 3.74, so even better.

It would be nice to see prices do like they did after the 2007 / 2008 spike and go down to about $1.60 / gallon

I wonder what the odds of that happening are

Especially with our current energy czar being on record favoring higher fuel prices

Owner59 -> RE: Gasoline prices drop in California, nationwide (5/24/2011 6:22:21 AM)

From over 5 dollars a gallon.....

Thanks for reminding us how high it was under bush.

Funny,I never saw a single con complain about 5 dollar gas during the bush disaster.

Now these "patriots".... [8|]....are praying for that again.

Sanity -> RE: Gasoline prices drop in California, nationwide (5/24/2011 6:28:02 AM)

Hurricanes caused a lot of the spike back then 0

And no one liked it, or even pretended that they did

If you know what I mean...

And then, Bush did everything in his power to facilitate lower fuel prices

He didnt even mouth policies favoring higher prices, as does our current president

tazzygirl -> RE: Gasoline prices drop in California, nationwide (5/24/2011 6:32:36 AM)

Hurricanes... the cost of doing business in the Gulf. We got charged because of what "potential" damage may have occured in the ones after Katrina.

It was an excuse, Sanity. And when investigated, how long did that investigation last?

Nothing funny about it. I have been telling you for a while now that your a bigot and see only what you want to see. It's good that you are finally catching on.

DarkSteven -> RE: Gasoline prices drop in California, nationwide (5/24/2011 6:50:21 AM)

Good news that gas is cheaper.  That'll result in lower food prices as well.  I just hope, despite Sanity's post otherwise, that it continues to stay down.

Sanity -> RE: Gasoline prices drop in California, nationwide (5/24/2011 7:10:11 AM)

We all  do Steven, higher fuel costs make everything more expensive and there are those who dont have money to spare

Dont count on that.

Owner59 -> RE: Gasoline prices drop in California, nationwide (5/24/2011 7:18:02 AM)

Hopefully at least they won`t go up.Energy and food production prices are closely linked.

~~~~~~~~~~
Look how the neo-cons hope and wish for higher prices.
They couldn`t give a fuck about Americans or their wallets.
Remember republicans were hoping that President Obama would fail and said so?
That hasn`t changed from three years ago and should be taken into account.
