I'm looking for a little change-up in my morning routine. I was wondering what y'all like lately for breakfast...besides cock or pussy. So, don't be shy and post your favorites here.

1 multigrain bagel (plain)
COFFEE!!!

If I'm REALLY hungry I'll eat a bowl of cereal about an hour later w/fresh fruit.
On Sunday's if the mood strikes I'll make whole wheat pancakes.

I've become addicted to those frozen sausage-on-a-stick wrapped in a maple-flavored pancake....sort of like a breakfast corndog, lol. Jimmy D's makes them. Dunked in syrup, they're yummy! lol

Gotta have my coffee, too, with hazelnut creamer.

Aren't they? So yummy.

Here, we like grits, eggs, sausage or bacon, and if I'm in the mood to cook them, home fried potatoes.

If we are in a rush to get out the door, we can always stop at a little shop downtown that has egg and sausage on English muffin for 2 dollars.

this ridiculously tasty breakfast casserole-type wonderment that my mom made for a big family thingie. i have a bunch of leftover in my fridge. it's so good! eggs, (veggie) sausage, (veggie) bacon, green peppers, onion, cheese, and bread all cooked together into this firm-yet-fluffy chunk of deliciousness.

i haven't eaten lunch yet, and since i had oatmeal this morning, (aunt jemima's cinnamon french toast instant oatmeal is amazingly good), it wouldn't be overkill to have some now. ^_^ so i shall. ^_^

Two high quality organic fried eggs (lightly done on a high heat) which absorb the flavours of bacon, good quality (pref jumbo) sausages and white pudding (an unusual ingredient), all of it very fresh not the packaged stuff with lots of preservatives. Loads of white toast with loads of butter. If any champion can take that he or she will have one tough heart.

Usually fruit and yogurt. Sometimes with some raw walnuts or pecans tossed in.

Occasionally, on weekends, a late breakfast of home made pancakes with some of my accidentally runny, strawberry preserves on top and some bacon.

Or....some of my home made w.w. waffles with the strawberry preserves or just by themselves, they are that good.

Or......a Kashi bar and fresh fruit, if I hit the ground running right out of bed.

Or......some of my w.w. home made bread toasted.

Or..... sometimes, on the weekend, breakfast out. What that entails depends on where.

And ALWAYS coffee. Usually a pot of LavAzza espresso or a cafe au lait made with French Market coffee and chicory and plain Soysilk.

My usual standby is mulitgrain toast with a light spread of real butter, and (of course) decaf tea of some sort (with honey).

Sometimes I make an microwave spinach and mushroom omelet, or go for cottage cheese (or yogurt) with fruit.

What is an organic egg?

Aren't all eggs organic?

Geez its an egg from a hen reared in an organic farming environment where there is reasonable living space for the hens, natural more appropriate feed, no farming chemicals.

actually no -- a lot of chickens are raised in battery cages, and fed a diet they would not eat naturally. lots of hormones and antibiotics given to promote growth in a distressing, unnatural environment and control disease outbreak; disease spreads fast when you have chickens living in cages the size of shoeboxes stacked on top of each other.

organic eggs come from chickens raised to particular standards -- it depends, but one of the basic requirements is that they have access to outside, instead of being stuck in cages or warehouses, and they eat a food (generally vegetarian, unlike standard chicken food) that adheres to organic guidelines by being free of animal byproducts, hormones, GMOs, antibiotics, etc. they have a more natural, healthy existence, which makes for healthier eggs.

the eggs i ate in England, for instance, tasted a bajillion times better than standard eggs i ate here in the US. now, if i can afford them, i prefer organic or free-range eggs because they are similar to the ones i had in England (they have much more advanced animal welfare standards there).

I switch between:

-frozen blueberry soy protein shake with an ample scoop of ground flax
-chocolate or blueberry Special K cereal with either organic yogurt or soy milk with an ample scoop of ground flax
-organic eggs on whole grain toast
-parfait made with organic vanilla yogurt, ground flax, scoop of soy protein powder, crushed walnuts, chocolate Special K cereal, and frozen blueberries
-a VERY rare treat of steak, organic eggs, whole grain toast, and sweet potato hash browns on the side

I have a cup of either Black Silk Folger's coffee or Cafe' du Monde chicory every morning. Coffee is a must for me in the morning.
