i put on a pair of jeans today that i bought too tight on purpose. =p they were super cute, on sale, and i was determined they would fit. well now they fit! hooray!
i have not been weighing myself because scales frustrate me. though i think maybe i should atleast maybe once a month.
i dont know how much i've lost, but i have lost at least 1, maybe 2 dress sizes. a lot of the clothes i have are getting to the point where they no longer fit. that's pretty sweet. ^_^

whoo hooo!! i've been eating better (or eating regularly, it matters), and started running, which i really love doing. i used to love running as a kid and then as i got older i just stopped. it's nice to get back to it. ^_^ it all really started from doing an aerobics video with my mom; trying to help her get back her mobility. that video really got me motivated, and next thing you know -- running!
need to start some weight training, now, too -- i'm very interested in kettle bells.

I hate running, but I love walking, swimming & dancing. And now that the pain is lifting, I'm looking forward to doing more of those things. I can't wait to get out onto the dance floor again!!!

oh hooray ^_^ i'm glad your pain is getting out of dodge -- what kind of dancing do you like? i have to throw a shout-out to bellydance; it's low impact but good exercise. i know a lot of women who got into it and resolved a lot of their back problems.
walking and swimming are wonderful things, too. =)

I loved weight lifting in highschool and early college.  I miss having access to a gym.  I just don't have the money for a membership, so I have to do workouts at home.  Speaking of which, a friend showed me this site.  He said the workouts kicked his butt.  I haven't tried them yet, but it looks interesting.

(For those who might ask, he doesn't have all the equipment shown.  He just makes do with what he has at home.)

that link looks awesome. ^_^ i will definitely check out their workouts. ^_^ i've been trying to find ways to do more without having weights; i cant afford a gym at the moment either, so i do a lot of exercises that rely on body weight. of course as my weight goes down, they'll be less effective, but for now, it's helping.

oh and i HHHAAAAVEEE to say -- check out www.nerdfitness.com -- i love that site. ^_^

I took belly-dance classes in Oregon in 2007. I had a broken foot at the time that hadn't actually been diagnosed properly. Once it was diagnosed, I was required to stay off it for the next 2 months. But I absolutely loved the dancing!! I love any kind of dancing. I gots great rhythm for a white girl!!

It was a little painful, yeah. But I've danced with broken toes before. My problem now is rampant arthritis, so the more exercise I can get the better off I'm going to be. I'm working maybe a little too hard today trying to make up for the last several months, so I'm having to remember to pace myself. When I feel a little twinge, I try to sit down & rest for a few minutes. I don't want to be in worse pain tomorrow, after all!!

I seem to be here all by my lonesome, but who cares?? I did a lot of housework yesterday. Today I woke up with some sore muscles because I used some I haven't been able to use in months!! I think that scrubbing the bathtub was probably the culprit for the most part. But it's so purty now!!! Today I'm taking it a little bit easier, although I've been sort of dancing a few steps around the apt. It feels so fucking good to move my body again!!!! I want to have this pain doc's baby!!! Ok, well maybe not, but you know........

I've been trying to eat a lot more fruits & vegetables because I'm taking opioids & you know what that can do to one's system. So I'm having berries along with my banana & cereal & yogurt for breakfast. I've been buying & cutting up veggies for salads & also found some really yummy greens on sale, so I'm eating a salad with hard-boiled egg & some fresh chicken I cooked up & a little cheese for my proteins for lunch. Dinner the last couple of nights has been an extra-lean burger with melted cheese on Italian Herb Focaccia bread. I'll have to think up something different after tonight, since I only have enough meat for one more. For snacks I have hummus that I dip with sugar snap peas.

So my protein, vegetable & fruit consumption is up & my carb consumption is waaaaaay down!! And soon I'll be dancing & walking like I used to do.

Hey, Linea!!! I'm back from the Dr with great news!!! Cutting back on the caffeine has made my blood pressure 110/80, which is pretty farkin good for a fat old lady. And I lost 8 lbs!!!!! And I had cortisone injections just last Thursday, so I'm probably up a few lbs from the steroids. And I don't have to go back for 2 whole months!! I can't believe how things are turning around for me.

Huzzah for the electric cauldron
Throw in some protein during the daylight, and there hot meat by sunset. Add some good raw greens and you're good to go.

Alright, that's just SAD, SJ.. have to flip through three pages of "Snippets" and find this poor ol' thread sitting in the corner having a lonely..

Back to it, then.

LOVES how everyone has been sharing on this thread, except for one poster up there who really doesn't belong here, not even when he's following someone else around like a leg-humping puppy dog, and especially if he's going to run his inappropriately smart-ass mouth like he usually does. That shit might fly low on other threads, but here it is absolutely verboten, and I fucking well mean it.
Now then..

I have been experiencing a really sucky period of stress and low energy that has taken some time to get over. No, it isn't depression, which would have been my first thought too if I'd seen someone else write that. Anyhow, got up this morning and had a single hard-fried egg cut in half on each of two buttermilk biscuits with half a slice of cheese and a slice of tomato. For lunch, crackers and green food (will explain about my green food later, which is actually some strangely-coloured juice, when I go get the bottle so I can read off all the wonderful things that are in it). Supper will be a braised beef rib and a butterless baked potato. I will probably ease back into my exercise routine later on this evening with my personal 50-minute-mix of stretching, a little lifting, and a little cardio. Tomorrow, I start back on my Wii programs as well.

Anyone else..?

I've been sickly for the past couple of weeks so I've been a lazy bum.  I really need to get motivated to get back on the horse but it hasn't happened yet.
