LOL - Good advice.

Welcome, Novelist. Please feel free to ask questions, we (mostly) don't bite. Okay, some of us bite, but not that hard.

I love your new avatar, Ashjor !!

Yeah, I don't have a problem with people coming on here and checking out what's what. If I was writing a piece about quilters I dang sure would be reading some quilting blogs and forums, maybe go into a quilting chat room, call my friends who are quilters, even take a beginner's quilting class just to be able to get a real life feel for some basics and have at least enough info to ask the right questions. Where it gets a little hairy of course is that what we are speaking of in these forums tends to be a wee bit more ... private.

best,

Welcome Novelist.

Go ahead and ask whatever you want, just be warned that you'll get slapped around a lot for it if they aren't very well crafted questions (that shouldn't be a real problem for a writer).

I'm very much not in "the mold", but feel free to a email me with any questions you may have of a more private nature if you so chose.

Ask any questions you want, most of us will answer and there will be some debate on even simple things. Check out www.worldofgor.com and John Norman's world of Gor Novel's. It gives some kind of ideas and good luck, to understand something, you must experience it. You can read or write something, imagine it, but to truely understand something you have to have been there at some point.

I hope you are only speaking for you and yours, rather than trying to speak for the entire membership. As has been said, many here will not respond positively to 'tourists' inquiring about our personal relationships on the open forums.

Ummm, just... no. I'll go out on a limb here and say that the OP is most likely interested in BDSM, which is not the same as being Gorean. Treating Gor and BDSM as the same thing will just make the OP look a bit clueless to many folks.

I agree.

OP- Welcome to CM. I hope you like to read, because there is a LOT of info here. The search function will be your friend.

Cheese and rice... where to begin with that utterly ridiculous set of words put together to attempt to make something worthwhile.

First, any decent writer would recognize Norman's idiotic writings as just that within the first few paragrphs. Don't scare the poor man away! As the lovely wyld pointed out he came to ... I shan't repeat, but with your 2 posts you really feel like you are sufficient to making a call on whether MOST OF US will answer? really? That is a crock of nonsense if ever I've seen it, and heaven knows I've seen mountainsides covered in crocks of nonsense. They may have been crocks filled with kimchee, but never you mind.

And frankly do you even feel sufficient to representing Goreans? I think you ought to venture on over to the Gorean board and see how that works. I'm bored and wouldn't mind enjoying the musing of the folks over there as they sharpen their swords.

You are right about one thing - there is often a debate on the simplest of things - for the simple, the basic, the most mundane of things are the ones that are often the most profound and most real for many people.

only if you're writing a pythonesque farce.

its full of ideas alright, but not one of them has a fucking thing to do with bdsm.

bullfuckingshit!! i suppose gibbon was actually a roman then? or stephen king is insane, or bewitched, or possessed? tom harris really was a serial killer? writers have been writing about shit they never experienced ever since they first started writing (whoever wrote the epic of gilgamesh hadn't actually talked to gods and shit), that's why its fiction for fuck's sake.
