Okay. Here are the factors which the GOP needed to overcome:

1. The Chris Lee scandal turned off some voters, I assume.
2. The Tea Party candidate split the vote.
3. The Ryan proposal split off the seniors.

The fact that a Dem won was just part of the concern. Even if the Republican had won a squeaker, it should have been grounds for concern.

The Ryan plan is radioactive. If the GOP tweaks it now, they may survive 2012.

Here is a minor demonstration of why he lacks a credibility, (note that this was on the date that the issue was resolved) and his drawing people of like credibility parrotting him is not something that anyone possessing facts or reason and logic would gravitate towards.  Laughable idiot is all he is.

Try again. Keep in mind Rush will say absurd things to either make wise cracks or illiterate other absurdities.  I'm not going to read that entire thread at the moment  so I'll have to get back to you.

LOL.  Yeah, he is a fuckin absurd shiteater, no doubt about that.  Try again my ass.

I would like to see something credible he has done, replete with credible fact and citations.

Oh......................doesn't exist.

how many sockpuppets are out here now on the rabid right?

What ever happened to the guy who doesnt know what an FFDL is and is 'schooling' me on it even as he is an expert in the lacsidasial and rather simplistic nature of the nursing profession because his wife lets him take the bedpan test that she administers to old peoples home employees, and he aced it.

Bottom line: The so called tea party candidate handed the election to the democrats. And it had little to do with the Ryan bill, except that the democratic candidate misrepresented the bill to an aging audience. The bill does not affect anyone over 55, which is the majority demographic up there.

Worse, the democrats continue to misrepresent and continue to demagogue the bill. They repeat, over and over, that the Ryan plan will kill medicare, when in fact, it is a medicare fix bill. It is a typical scare tactic that works. People just don't know and haven't read it, and then the press won't call out the democrats on their demagoguery. The reason medicare and social security haven't been reformed is the democrats do a very good job scaring and demagoguery. And when you do that incessant;y, you don't get anything fixed.

Repub "fixes" for Medicaid are proposals to eliminate or dilute it.

Bottom line per your conspiracy paranoia--the Democrats here aren't that smart. But the Tea Party is that stupid.

Republicans are going to have to actually solve a problem. Tax cuts aren't going to bury this one.

But actually solving a problem is what is going to bury them.  It ain't there, when we need rubber on the road. The largest part of the problem is they refuse to educate themselves, and rely on misinformation and ineptitude or simpleminded ideologic claptrap to be the fix.

Its credible to make fun of a man with parkinson's disease on web cam.

Its credible to take drugs for years and lie about it repeatedly, only owning up to it when he knows he is about to be caught.

Its credible to have an addiction while repeatedly slamming others who did.

Its credible to possess a prescription that was not in his name.

This is what you call "credible"?

Don take my word for it... look it the hell up!

I found it both ironic and amusing that after this Democrat won in New York, the number of Republicans and conservatives came forward to state "This is nothing major or news worthy". If any of you recall the upset by then, Scott Brown, against his Democratic opponent, Martha Coakley, the Republicans came out strong with "This is a new era for America! We are showing those liberal elite that we are taking back our country" (and all that other baloney). There are a few on this very board that cheered Mr. Brown's election on, but now (or soon will) try to down play this Democrat's victory in New York.

Ironic and Amusing....

There is more context to all of that but why should I bother to get into it. It won't change your opinions and mostly trivial as far as I'm concerned. I know he gets under your skin and crawls around till you guys start having tizzy fits. If Rush says this guy Davis is a tea party fraud I'll bet on it and take my money to the bank.

Yeah, I am sure there is some salient facts about this fuckin asshole that mitigate his disgusting fuckin personage.

But there aint a goddamn thing in the galaxy that makes any of his shit credible.  Thats a real pile in the bank there.

This is hardly a 'Crat 'upset.' Between the Republican candidate and the "Tea Party" candidate (and I use the term loosely as Jack Davis generally runs as a Democrat), the conservative side of the issue got 52% of the vote.

Medicare will be a winning issue for the GOP moving forward, mainly because the choice that's being offered is between reduced benefits (the Republican/Ryan plan), or NO benefits in a few years because Medicare as it is currently designed will no longer have the resources to fund all the baby boomers medical needs.

So the Tea Party is now part of the Republican party? Or do you only include them when its convenient.

Rush Limbaugh on Barack Obama:

quote:

So the popular opinion has been, the consensus has been, "Yeah, he was born in Hawaii, isn't any big deal." They still can't prove it. This is stunning to me. Still can't prove it.

Putting aside the fact that he's a known prescription drug addict, and that you can never trust a junkie, Rush Limbaugh HAS NO CREDIBILITY because he's just another one of those people who are so stupid, crazy and/or racist there is simply no way a black man can legitimately be President.

You don't get it.  By all rights, the election should have been a GOP landslide, not even close.  If you add votes for the Tea Party candidate and the Republican, it's pretty close.

The GOP has not found any way to deal with criticism of the Ryan bill.  Even if it doesn't slice anyone off at the knees if they're above 54, it still slashes Medicare while giving tax breaks to the wealthy.  It's so easy to say that it's taking money from Grandma and handing it over to the rich bankers, etc.

I'm absolutely amazed that the GOP didn't draw up a defense for the utterly predictable attacks on this bill by now.
