http://beta.news.yahoo.com/gop-braces-medicare-blowback-091800396.html

"This week, an off-year special election in Buffalo and a purely symbolic vote in the Senate might tell Republicans all they need to know about the mercurial politics of Medicare reform.

First up is New York’s 26th District in a special election Tuesday. If Democrat Kathy Hochul wins — she is leading by 4 to 6 points in the latest polls — it not only would be a setback for House Republicans but would send a message to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and his key lieutenants that their Medicare overhaul plan could become a serious political liability."

http://www.nytimes.com/1995/09/17/us/gingrich-dismisses-clinton-s-medicare-veto-threat-as-posturing.html

Heres a guy who got schooled by Clinton in that political science course, and watched the subsequent and inevitable slaughter.

He tried to warn these clowns, and his own party shot the messenger, and demonized him.

Now, the untutored are thinking like they shoulda actually investigated some facts instead of proceeding brashly with impudence and belligerence.

And he's looking like Nixon opening up China.

This is news? Ryan said it would be used for demagoguery when he announced the budget. Its the Dems favorite card to play. well...it was till Obama was elected.

Demagoguery? You claim to know the insurance industry. How much would it cost a 70 year old to buy health insurance equivalent to present Medicare and how does that cost compare to the Ryan plans voucher?

How about this analysis:

farglebargle -> RE: GOP braces for Medicare blowback (5/28/2011 8:56:52 AM)

Oh, 70 year olds WILL be able to buy insurance with vouchers, and it'll be covered by the vouchers.

But then the seniors will have to submit themselves to the insurance company rationing and death panels.

Yup... Now the republicans own care rationing and death panels.

Who's doing strategy for them? Bozo the fucking clown?

DarkSteven -> RE: GOP braces for Medicare blowback (5/28/2011 9:04:25 AM)

Owner, your article's old.  Hochul DID win, and the GOP is busy explaining that the Ryan plan had nothing to do with it.

This begs the question...

Why are politicians pushing a product that is detrimental to the lives, and health, of US citizens?

mnottertail -> RE: GOP braces for Medicare blowback (5/28/2011 9:39:25 AM)

Cuz we're not gonna let em start any new wars for awhile?

tazzygirl -> RE: GOP braces for Medicare blowback (5/28/2011 9:41:17 AM)

Nobody 'liberal' has misunderstood that, what planet are you on?

Sanity -> RE: GOP braces for Medicare blowback (5/28/2011 10:27:57 AM)

Which in turn begs the answer. Its because they get their "news" and "information" (whats known as propaganda in the real world) from far left sources such as NPR, HuffPo, the NYT, MSNBC, CNN, and  Time Magazine

Sanity -> RE: GOP braces for Medicare blowback (5/28/2011 10:30:05 AM)

If "Liberals" understood that they wouldnt try to demonize those who propose real, workable solutions.

Typical leftist ad hominem ignored

Nobody is demonizing anyone with real workable solutions, as it stands we haven't seen any.  Typical rightist lie and spin ignored.

No, it wont. Neither will the health care system as a whole.
