The Seattle earthquake 2001, 6.8, some of the highways and the viaduct badly damaged, almost collapsed, freaky to see the pics on the news (that was when i had a tv). I was just a few hours north in Vancouver (BC, Canada) and I felt it. It was freaky, they dont last very long but sure feel like they do. I was in an old house so it shook bad, my ex was standing in some parking lot talking to someone and he didnt even no that we had one. After that I took a few seminars on earthquake proofing your house and what you needed to survive for up to the 3 days they said you might be on your own. Sorta scary that so many buildings, hi rises, schools etc in LA & other cities up the coast still need upgrading (or bulldozing).

I dont let my fears rule me either but I dont . What is it they say? Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Status: offline 		The Pretty Big One was my second 7.1 quake. The first was in 1949 in Seattle, where I am from. There were several earthquakes while I lived there. But the deal is that there are natural disasters waiting to happen everywhere. I don't think that I said that I didn't think that one should be prepared in case. I just said that I'm not gonna dwell on something that may or may not happen.

I used to ride a motorcycle. And I had a friend who rode. One day, he decided to wash his bike & rode it into the backyard without his helmet on. The front wheel hit a slight dip, he was thrown over the handlebars, landed on his head & was killed instantly. That's my point: it was such a freak accident that had he been standing in the middle of the living room, he'd probably have died, cuz his time was up.

I wear a seatbelt when I'm in anybody's car, not because I'm worried about getting into an accident, but I'm prepared should one happen. Just like I prepared myself for the motorcycle accident I survived because I'd prepared myself. But I never dwell on the possibilities & I don't go to psychics or read my horoscope to see if it might be dangerous on the 22nd of Sept.

That's what I mean about not allowing the fear to rule my life.

No, I never meant to imply that you personally dont take precautions, etc. I was speaking about people generally.

Des is right 100% you started 'scarin the children' as they say the seconds anyone could extrapolate ' no spinning at the gym' from your dark assertions

Don't feel bad, you didn't cause any damage. Why, the asshole who first described Dubyah as a compassionate conservate (when he was neither) did a lot more harm back in 98-99

I am hoarding hops, barley, corn sugar, and frozen yeast, along with a healthy supply of marijuana seed.
I intend to be king when it's all over, I'll get these motherfuckers so washed out on my special brew (a summer ale racked with cannabis trichomes and aptly named High Time)... that they'll WISH the republicans were in charge.
     Just wait till Heretic and Sanity have to trudge all the way to the remnants of the North Pole to get ice for my drinks.

I did did I? I dont think I did. Plus I didnt say any of that, I posted a link.

I remember we had a blackout here that lasted several days. We had no water, power and if you didnt have food you didnt have it but I wouldnt call it doomsday.

Everyone laughed at Cassandra and Noah, too (Said with HUGE wink and a nod). I think the story is interesting one way or another.
