I may be mistaken, but no fucker voted for the chimp because they thought he was amusing: the repukes (voting in lockstep, as always) elected him twice, with help from the electoral college the first time, because he wasn't Al Gore and hadn't actually served in Vietnam rather than going AWOL from the national guard.
(The flip flop on the inherent superiority of military servicemen once Sorebutt got nominated is the funniest thing I've seen on the telly since Kenny Everett died...)

I agree. The way some people get so riled up about the other side (aka the evil ones), which ever side that happens to be, you can almost see the veins throbbing in their head.

------------

As for who the next President is going to be. First, trying to call it now is an exercise in futility. Most Americans are not paying that much attention to the Presidential race right now. A year from now they will be paying more attention. A lot can happen between now and then in terms of the economy and scandals (which both sides are workng dilligently to bring you). If the economy has improved then Obama is a shoe in. If the economy is still down in the dumps his re-election is far from certain. Normally I would say he is doomed but the Republicans have not fielded a truly vivable canidate and it seems doubtful that they can. Ultimately it will come down to how much of a "anyone but O'bama" mood the electorate is in.

Personally (although I know it will never happen), I would like to see Arnold Schwarznegger win... just so we can have that sureal moment when he gives his first speech from the Oval Office in that Ah-nold voice of his: "my fellow Americans... you are all just a bunch of girly-men."

He's killed bin Laden, though. Surely the Kenyan is a shoo in?

(If they'd let Ahnuld stand, you people are probably the last bunch on Earth who'd vote for Tony Blair first: he was your bitch in Europe, was he not?)

Yes, that's true, he did bring about justice for those murdered on 9-11... oh... wait... I mean, he killed an unarmed man! It's all just a matter a perspective. I don't think anyone can ever be considered a shoo in since one scandal (real or percieved) can change things in an instant up to the last minute. As of right now, I think it is O'bama's to win or loose... but it would help if the economy turned around.

I don't really understand what you're saying here.

Tony Blair. You know, the chimp's poodle? Cunt who got us into the invasion of Iraq and made the UK a laughing stock going around the Hague insisting it was a righteous thing and everybody should be for it?
They've made the twat some sort of roving middle eastern envoy now, which is a bit like appointing Hitler's corpse as the Israeli ambassador...

Moon,

Are you suggesting we would elect old Tony president as pay back for being the lap dog of the Bush?

It would take some rule changes,  but those people were all for changing the rules to let Ah-nold run.

No, neither has a chance for the GOP nomination, and the two of them plus Ron Paul are the only "contenders" that I can see losing to Obama without an economic miracle.

The week of Jan 20, 2009, the DJIA was 8077.

As of 10:20 EDT it is 12505.

This is an increase of about 50% in less than 2.5 years. I wouldn't call it a miracle but I'd call it pretty damn good.

You make the common mistake of thinking the stock market = the economy. It doesnt. You also make the common mistakes of not realizing that the drop in the stock market was a government induced panic that was totally unnecessary, and that the recovery in the stock market begain when it was clear that the Dems would be soundly defeated last November.

None of that bodes well for Obama.

And today's housing news is even worse for him. The economy cant recover as long as housing prices keep dropping and Washington facilitates the banks not recognizing those losses.

The stock market isnt the economy, that is correct. it is one of several dozen factors driving it including "Consumer confidence"

When the market is rising, consumer confidence (rightly or wrongly) tends to rise too.
It is the most common indicator that joe six pack looks to to see how things are going.

Im gonna have to call bullshit, though, on your claim that the market started rising when it became clear that the Dems would lose last november.

DJIA week of Jan 20, 2009. 8077
DJIA week of Sept 30 (a month before the election) 10788.
25% increase BEFORE it became clear the D side was gonna take a bath.

Are you kidding? The bloodbath in November was clear in July, possibly earlier.

Ok wilbur, I'll humor ya. In JULY of last year, the DJIA was 10637. bottom line. 25% INCREASE before the Dems knew they were gonna take a bath (date is by YOUR reckoning). Are you capable of looking crap up before you spout bullshit and make yourself look stupid?

Blair's done more to suck Yankie cock over his career than Ahnuld, surely? He's got you cannon fodder for that dust up in the gulf, after all. What's the Austrian steroid freak managed for that?

I would say Blair earned it.  But I don't think in the Post Obama world it's possible anymore.

We don't even take real US birth certificates anymore.

Yeah but what does that have to do with Arnold?

I kinda liked Tony... in that Queen movie.

He's even less American than Ahnuld, and I get the impression that the American voter likes him more.

Perhaps you missed the rest of my sentence..."possibly earlier". And perhaps you missed the part of my post that noted that the market was artificially depressed by the scare tactics led by the Dems. Obviously it was going to come back. And perhaps you might want to point out that when the market drops in half an increase of 25% from there that youre claiming credit for is only a 12.5% recovery?

Are you capable of responding to an entire post before you try to play gotcha and make yourself look stupid?

Heres a graph of the Dow. You tell me how much of the gains have been since the November bloodbath began to be factored into the market. Obamas approval ratings hit their low to date in early March, and the generic congressional ballot reached an 8% GOP margin.

the pic wont load in an edit...next post

News of a massive loss from AIG, and the  announcement that  HSBC  will pull out of the US consumer lending business is weighing in on the market. HSBC reported a 70% drop in profits as well as a dividend cut.

Economic news is predicted to be painful as well. Economists predict the largest one month job loss in 60 years. A job loss of 630,000 is expected to be reported for February, which is  higher than the 598,000 jobs lost in January. The deterioration is accelerating.

U.S. stocks dropped on Friday, and closed the Dow Jones closed out the month with its worst performance since 1933. The S&P 500 dropped 10.9%, and has dropped 18.6% so far this year, the worst start to the year on record.

Banks are set to open sharply lower. Bank of America (BAC) is trading down 10% to $3.59.

People do not panic ahead of time wilbur, nobody comes to jesus on prom night.

I love watching people argue about things which are predicated on an unproven hypothesis. In this case, the unproven hypothesis is that elections aren't totally fake and that ballots are actually counted.

I defy anyone to *prove* ( like you *prove* the balance in your bank accounts every month ) the results of ANY election. Show all work, using additional paper as necessary.

Oh, you can't AUDIT elections? Well, that's the end of this exercise.

Do you really think she could win boi? I know the american public is fickle as hell but unless some disaster happens, I dont see any of the present R folks winning in '12.

Well, if the left dumped Obama and ran someone like Trump, then yes I would say she had a shot. Otherwise no. I don't think she has that much of a following. I haven't seen anyone yet on the right that I would vote for, but there is still time. Maybe they will come up with someone I like or maybe I will win the lottery. You just never know.

Sarah Palin is the ultimate self-absorbed type. Her actions and words are for one thing only: getting you and others to buy her books and speeching engagements. She doesn't care what happens to you people in any form. If the nukes were coming down, and she was already in the bunker, she'd shut the door the moment she got inside, regardless of who was behind. Does that sound like someone you would want to vote for?

I did get a chuckle that Rolling Thunder neither endorsed nor invited Palin to their event, to help support her cause. Her cause of course, being....her, herself, and only her.

Shut the door leaving others behind ??? Really now. I don't believe that for one second. The thing I like about Sarah Palin is she drives liberals ape shit drooling all over themselves sayin stuff like that. One well known pundit who also drives liberals ape shit says the democrats are afraid of her running for POTUS over the others. I guess we shall see if she does. Though she needs to brush up a bit on her vocabulary.
