But the question was about her intelligence. Gotta face it, she is smart enough to keep people talking about her long after she should have been a distant memory.

If that were the only qualification of intellect needed to be president then Lady Gaga should be in the Oval Office

It isn't a strange question. Is she intelligent enough to be President of the US? The job (like all jobs) requires a certain amount of intelligence. In your opinion, does she have that qualification?

Bill Maher solved the problem:
Maher on Palin: ‘Anybody Can Be President in this Dumb, F**ing Country’ [ http://www.breitbart.tv/maher-on-palin-anybody-can-be-president-in-this-dumb-fing-country/ ]

She is entertaining, she does not even need a teleprompter.

Seriously speaking, it is not so much about the intelligence, but it is about deep understanding of the society, economy, history and law. Also, the president is preferably an enlightened and free person. Mrs. Palin obviously does not have it (ignorance). I would say the current president is dangerously short of it it as well.

LOL cant see Gaga giving up her freedom or the money she makes for office.

I do not consider her unintelligent. She is a master at manipulating the media, and in reaching people.

However, her interests are self-serving and she does not desire to hold office.

The problem is that she devotes her resources to self-promotion and some people think she has an obligation to learning more about politics. She does not want to - she does not intend to hold office.

Neither is necessarily a sign of intelligence, sadly.

Depends on how you view intelligence.

Moonhead -> RE: Is Palin intelligent enough (6/6/2011 7:12:25 AM)

How you view intelligence has little or nothing to do with it. It's a lot easier to manipulate the media in a stupid fashion than to use it effectively, isn't it? I wouldn't have said any of Barbie's desperate flailing to get some attention every time she opens her mouth displays any wit, put it that way.

(Is it clear that I'm leaning towards a "no" on this issue?)

So is Paris Hilton but I doubt she will ever be politically electable.

Or Kim Kardashian... I wouldn't exactly call her a deep pool

tazzygirl -> RE: Is Palin intelligent enough (6/6/2011 8:28:41 AM)

Neither of which would have their dogs supporting their candidacy. Palin has more going for her than that.

juliaoceania -> RE: Is Palin intelligent enough (6/6/2011 8:34:41 AM)

Actually, I think Kim Kardashian has a lot more going for her.... she has a successful reality show, and she has a business empire. Palin WANTS to be Kardashian. In fact I would vote for Kim before I would vote for Sarah. I think Kim is much more savvy.

Consider that.

Tizzy,I find your stance on Palin's intelligence,or lack thereof(in my opinion)confusing. How could you have observed her performance since McCain plucked her from obscurity and come away with the idea that there is intelligence behind the rhetoric?
Keeping "people talking about her" is more an indictment on the lack of intelligence possessed by her supporters than any indication of intellect on her part.
Sorry, but in my eyes she is an empty head.....and more damaging does not seem to be interested in the least in trying to fill the vacuum.

tazzygirl -> RE: Is Palin intelligent enough (6/6/2011 9:25:29 AM)

Mike, there are different types of intelligence. Book vs street, for example. Someone also came up with a theory for nine levels of intelligence.

I am very careful not to underestimate people, mike. I see a level of intelligence within that woman. Is it a level I want in the WH? No.

The whole entire thread is predicated on her intellect being "enough" to be president. She doesn't have the intellect for the job. You said you thought she was smart enough, yet here you say she isn't

Tizzy. Apparently I am not intelligent enough to type properly....lol.Julia has it right,we are discussing the level of intelligence necessary tp occupy the Oval Office.....and in that the woman fails.....big time!!!!!!!!
