I think a better question would be, "is Obama smart enough?"

Fuck you popeye...that question has been answered once already...it is called an election and he won it....now in Nov.2012 the electorate get toose the question all over again....of course it's not exactly a fair test...the RJepublicans have no one of any gravitas to run against him......so the outcome is pre ordained

So why don't you ask it?

It may be because I live a long way away, but I'm unaware of a single policy- not slogans not emotional appeals, not rhetoric - but policy that Palin has been responsible for developing.

If you agree that POTUS ought to be about, to a significant extent, implementing successful policies that are good for the country, can anyone nominate any specific policies she has developed and will implement?

WingedMercury -> RE: Is Palin intelligent enough (6/11/2011 5:33:21 PM)

I agree that the question is not a very good one. Is she "smart enough"? It begs the question, "smart enough what for"?

If, as we assume, it is to stand for the Presidency of USA, then the answer is almost certainly "yes". Then the question comes, "are the US voters silly enough to vote for her?"

I have enough faith in US to be confident we will never find out.

MrRodgers -> RE: Is Palin intelligent enough (6/11/2011 5:42:35 PM)

Palin is not intelligent at all. She's just smartly riding out what will soon prove to be very fleeting popularity. She's now a comedy show on wheels.

I should have answered the question not sure. She did a good job as Gov. of Alaska improving the state's financial position until she resigned prematurely so that causes me to lean yes. But when she says something crazy like it's not important to raise the debt ceiling I think she is not only not qualified she is nuts.

No. No. No.

Has anyone else read "Game Change"?? It was written without favoring either party.

Well it raises the question, as nothing here begs the question.

But the question you raise is answered in the OP.

To be fair, everybody thought there was no doubt that Al Gore was a shoo in back in 2000, didn't they?
These things are rarely that cut and dried, particularly with a load of paranoid hysteria rather than issues being campaigned on by one side.
