Clarance Thomas' failure to disclose his family income of $650,000 from people with business before the US Supreme Court has dishonored the highest court, and he MUST RESIGN TO PRESERVE THE HONOR AND DIGNITY OF THE JUDICIARY.

Justice Thomas knew that the box marked NONE next to the phrase "Spouse's Non-Investment Income" should only be checked if his spouse had no non-investment income.

In fact Ginni Thomas was paid nearly $700,000 between 2003 and 2007, as well as an undisclosed amount by another lobbying group in 2009. Justice Thomas' false statements regarding his wife's income certainly constitute a misdemeanor, and quite probably a felony, under federal law. (They would be felonies if he were prosecuted under 18. U.S.C. 1001, which criminalizes knowingly making false statements of material fact to a federal agency. This is the law Martha Stewart was convicted of breaking by lying to investigators.)

Well, if you're ok with USSC Justices being for sale for as little as half a million dollars, then go ahead and sit on the sidelines.

Me? I Love America, and I can't tolerate a Supreme Court is not just for sale, but when there's clear evidence of that corruption, that it's OK to let it slide.

Yawwwwnnnn.

1. Old news
2. There is no law violation, since there is no law requiring the disclosure, its a practice instituted by the Court itself.
3. The amounts are never disclosed, its just a check or no check box, so claiming he "failed to disclose $650,000" is a misstatement of the practice.
4. He said he misunderstood the circumstances under which it was to be checked. Its great to know we have another fucking mindreader here who actually "knows" that he knew it had to be checked.

This hasnt gone anywhere in 7 months, and wont go anywhere for the next 7 years.

If he didn't report it on the disclosure, how do we know he reported it on his taxes?

You know, at work we have Ethics policies, which aren't Laws either. And know what happens if I violate them, by perhaps failing to disclose investments covered under the Associate Investment Monitoring program?

I get fired.

That's because we care about the reputation of our bank, and even the appearance of impropriety is not tolerated!

Now, which should be more observant to their ethics policies? A national bank, or the US Supreme Court?

That's a trick question, btw. You either ARE in compliance, or you ARE NOT in compliance. And you know, HE KNEW she had non-investment income. He LIED that she didn't. Period. End of story.

Under Section 455, it states that "Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned."

If he had done the honest and ethical thing, the thing I must do EVERY DAY AT WORK OR I GET FIRED, he would have disclosed the, let's say "Bribe" and then he would have the option of recusing himself.

Unfortunately, Clarence Thomas chose to lie on his disclosure filings, in an attempt to conceal the source of the money. At that point, the real question is, "Why hasn't he resigned in disgrace?"

The only way to get rid of him is impeachment, so the pressure should be to start impeachment proceedings, and with the makeup of congress, I am thinking it would be extremely difficult, but you need a plan if you really believe in your cause, perhaps a website, other people who think like you, etc.

Thomas is an asshole,plain and simple...unfortunately we all stood by enraptures with the scintillating details as his accuser was besmirched and generally flayed on national tv during the confirmation hearings..now we are stuck with the sight of a morally bankrupt and totally mediocre legal mind sits on the nations highest court.
