Owner59 -> Top Reaction to GOP Field -- "Unimpressed" (6/8/2011 7:30:25 PM)

http://pewresearch.org/pubs/2010/negative-reactions-republican-presidential-candidates

'Even Republicans and Republican-leaning independents use mostly negative words to describe their party's presidential candidates.

Nearly four-in-ten (37%) use a negative word, 22% a positive word and 18% a neutral description.

"Unimpressed" is the top descriptor among Republicans and Republican leaners, with 17 mentions."

Limo driver!

Top reaction to Obama: 47% of registered voters will DEFINITELY NOT VOTE FOR HIM, no matter who the GOP candidate is.

Yup, just an early poll, but it shows that the bin Laden bounce is gone, and the election is right back squarely on the economy.

And less happy with your lot.

So he wins.

Doesn`t matter what Obama`s rating is,as long it`s higher than the con`s.

That was a poll that significantly undersampled Republicans. When likely voters are polled I guarantee he will be behind Romney.

Doesn't matter, if this shit keeps up nobody will vote.

There will be a record GOP turnout in 2012. The Dem turnout will depend on how many of them vote more than once. [;)]

Sorry wilbur. This mornings numbers showed Romney as the front leader for the R side but Obama still had a double digit lead over him among likely voters.

It's a long way till Nov 2012 tho.

Romney is going to have a hard time in the primary just as before.

The Mrs family is full of far right fundies.  Believe me when I say that voting block has an issue with the "Mormon" aspect of Romney.

He has to navigate around that section of the party before he can get the nomination.

You mean the inevitable jokes about the First Lady and the Second Lady and the Third Lady and..............[8D]

A significant portion of that group view the Mormons as a cult.  They  barely tolerate Catholics.

We all know that section of the Republican party often holds too much power in the primary.  Romney better have a rabbit hiding in his hat to work around them.

Do you remember his much touted speech about religion? Was supposed to rival JFK`s famous speech concerning his Catholicism?Seemed being a Catholic was a big deal last century.

Well,here it is.

It really doen`t deal with America and religion the way JFKs did,ex.,it`s private,America`s about real freedom, etc.Platitudes aside,it`s more about Mitt and mainstreaming Mormonism. He also panders to the fundies by implying that American liberty would not be possible without god.

"Liberty is a gift from god"....

Oh really,I don`t think so.We fought for that,no one and no thing "gave" us liberty.I guess Mitt`s saying that atheists,Pagans, secularists and Wiccens are out`a luck in the liberty dept.

Mitt is not sure that we fully appreciate the profound implications of our religious liberty.[8|]

Really,Mitt?

He gives us an example of this...the old cathedrals in Europe are big but empty.
Then he disses the parishioners, claiming that their congregations are withering.

The sincere believers I know don`t think of their faith as a popularity contest.Their faith doesn`t depend on such superficial things.

What an ass.

The real one,Kennidy`s speech.With a Q&A session that`s pretty interesting.

And their jesus is named moroni.  And I think that is probably redundant when speaking of Romney.

It's a long way till Nov 2012 tho.

ABC News poll:

"Romney actually slightly edges out Obama in the poll of likely voters (49–46), but the difference isn't enough to be statistically significant. " That poll actually does give Romney a statistically significant lead because it underpolled Republicans substantially.

The only new poll I see today is REGISTERED VOTERS, and Obama doesnt have a double digit lead he has 48-41 lead over Romney.

So exactly what poll of likely voters are you talking about?

I will give you the benefit of the doubt (once) that you havent graduated from the DK School of Misleading Posts, and just had a brain cramp. That poll is not only NOT of likely voters, as you claimed, the ADULTS polled werent even all registered voters.

I dont think the Mormon issue is a primary problem, I think it will cost him a point or two in the general. Thats why I thought he should be the VPOTUS candidate in 08.

I'll grant ya that. Only 83.7% were registered voters. It SUCKS that Herman Cain has only 7%. Until I find out bad news or some gets dug up, I could support that guy.
Might anyway.
