Hey Benji, Thank you for your post. I appreciate your words. I can understand where you are coming from, also. If you go to the "It's all about me" thread and see my 2nd to the last post (at least I think that's the one), you will see I sort of although slightly differently agree and relate to what you have said here. "True," to me...means genuine and sincere. It means I am not reckless and inconsiderate and careless of another's emotions. You set out to submit. In doing so, your submission is genuine but you get something out of it, also. Am I correct in understanding that? Or...are you saying you don't give a damn about the Dominant or her feelings, so long as you get what you want out of it? I think that's the difference. I think you were saying the former, not the latter. I don't think the former describes a player.

I don't consider myself to be real or true, or any of that. I am what I am, like it or not. I was not looking for people to approve or disapprove. Now, I think that may be an important distinction - does the person care about the other's feelings. However, I feel that here, often, no attempt is made to make that distinction. But on the whole, I think we're on the same page. I just think that, rather than saying "I'm looking for a true sub," someone could say "I'm looking for a sub who realizes that this is a two way street, and that my expectations are:... honestly i don't think it's about "true"-ness. or maybe it is. i think it's about this: a quote from the movie Gia, where the wonderful Angelina starred in. "...love, that was the hard thing to find. and even if you were looking for it--which most people weren't--how could you see it with all this sex in the way?" although i do have faith (for some damn unknown reason) and i do think it's possible to find Y/your O/one on this site or online in general, i do also have a practical side and have to admit, things online are hard. on a site like this, think about it. a) many are only looking for kinky sex and may or may not fall into the category of "true" or "real" Dom/mes or subs/slaves. b) distance is always an issue which can sometimes be overcomed, sometimes not. c) when you get so many people in one place with so many different likes, it takes a long time to wade through the crowd to find someone who suits your tastes and ideals (as everyone is different and intrepretes things differently and wants different things, etc, etc). so back to the main question Sam presented earlier. Are there true subs on this site? i do believe do. i like to think that in my own way (if indeed not in someone else's way) i am "true" and "real" but i might not be to every single person on this site. i also think that a lot of the good ones have been snatched up. Sad...but true. and although i'm happy for those that have been fortunate--especially as what i'm sure had to have been a long search--i can understand why some feel left out (as i sometimes do). but, if those who are happy now after a long search, it gives me a little light at the end of the tunnel. so yeah...patience, patience...glass is half full, light at the end of the tunnel and all that other optimistic crap.

As in other post... I've said it once.. I'll say it again.. [:D] I am not changing my name just because there are those that can't stand to see "True" or "Real" in a name and or profile. I'm true to me... and the one I serve.... and that's all that matters... [;)] Owned... love your post on this subject... always have... (and this isn't in response to no one.. Each person has a different definition of "true" as each individual person's needs are different. Each Dom has an idea of what their "true" submissive is and every submissive has an idea of what their "true" Dominant is. But unless you are true to yourself and sincere about your desires, you really can't be anyone's idea of "true" anything. Finding the right partner can be like trying to fit two puzzle pieces together. Each piece is right or true in their own right in regards to how it fits with the other pieces. But it isn't right for the pieces that don't fit with it. The challenge of any puzzle is to find which pieces are the right ones that fit together. I think all too often, people aren't being true to themselves about their own desires, thus they try to force themselves to connect with a piece they don't really fit with.
