Monday should be interesting. I wouldn't count out Newt but he has certainly been acting weird as of late.there may be too many of them on stage for Newt to shine though but I used to think he was the smartest guy ever in a position to run for POTUS.

You know, they did a great job in the 50's and 60's with a lot less money.
Hell, there are still people alive today who went to one room school houses and got an outstanding education.
Well, if you want an exceptional man you must be REAL happy with this goon in the W.H.
I want a good manager because, they're going there to work. I don't need or want to know anything about his/her wife or children or even if they have any and I only want to see him or her twice a year on the News.
I imagine Anthony Weiner was called "exceptional" or "the best and the brightest" too! And now everyone wants him to quit. Do you think he'll stick it out?

I know that but it doesn't matter. Most people did not vote yay or nay because they thought Obama was Muslim and I don't think most people are going to vote yay or nay for Romney because he's Mormon but, it could be that I over-estimate my countrymen. I hope not though.

Actually, that's why it matters. He wasn't. No problem. If he were--that would have been a huge problem.

That Romney felt the need to give a speech about it last time 'round indicates that he, at least, feels in this case, it matters.

So, is it your belief that we still have too much bigotry in this country to elect someone based on something other than religion? Is it the last taboo?

If that is true then we are still infants in our union. Time for us to grow-up.

Not sure how to make that happen except by setting an example to our own children then have patience.

If someone wanted to impose Mormonism similarly to the way the Christian right does,I wouldn`t vote them just on that.

Otherwise it doesn`t bother me.Mormons are some of the nicest people I`ve ever met.Not kidding.They seem to have a happy/nice gene or something.

But as pointed out by Mark,the Christian Right may not come out for a Mormon.Or a Jew or a Muslim.And they are a major GOP voting block.

I don`t think Mitt will win the primary.

The June 6 issue of the New Yorker also discusses this in "Romney's Dilemma: How his greatest achievement has become his biggest liability. Ironically, Obama was against the individual mandate while campaigning in 2008 and had to be talked into it in 2009.

Romney supported the individual mandate as "upholding the Republican value of personal responsibility."

It would be a great lesson for the US if they did. Texas is the only state to show economic growth and is responsbile for something on the order of 1/3 of all private sector jobs created since the recession began.
