Termyn8or -> RE: Drug Warrror No More (6/10/2011 6:43:08 AM)

While it's nice that some are getting vocal about it, many more are of the same mind. Many parts of the east side here and some of the west, people happily pass a joint around on the front porch and the cops will just cruise right ny. Many more, when they catch someone with a small sack will just pour it out. A few will bust big dealers with like a couple of pounds, and some of the evidence disappears. The person is charged with a lesser offense because the amount was smaller. Nobody to my knowledge has been foolish enough to walk into court bitching that they were busted with three pounds, not a half pound. A friend of a friend is an Ohio state trooper. I'm told that in a discussion the trooper said "Oh, I can't wait until I retire" which meant that he would love to burn one, but might be drug tested at any time due to his job. For the most part cops are people. Some are real SOBs, others are not. Wonder why some people just walk on alot of minor offenses ? Because they treat the cops like human beings. They have alot of discertion to use, just get them to use it. My family used to know quite a few cops. They were human beings and as such after seeing all the shit they see, many succumbed to emotional problems resulting in drug abuse, alcoholism, divorce and more than you may think - suicide. They had seen ENOUGH. We'll probably see more of this, people in the front lines just having had enough. Reminds me of something John Lennon said - "What if they gave a war and nobody came". In fact desertion is a problem in the military, and it's supected that some desert by suicide. I doubt this is confined the the US military. In fact I'm sure it is not just the US military. And that's what police forces are morphing into, military units. Few even know the distinction between a police officer and a peace officer. These days I'm not quite sure myself....... T^T
