Since i have been reading this thread i have thought alot about my experience and how i let it affect my self confidence and my self esteem.  I intellectually know that i had done nothng wrong to deserve being betrayed and the actions of those others had nothing to do with me but their own agendas.  I still hurt emotionally when i think of the situation which time will heal.  Yur right becca, letting this situation keep me down is the failure. I'm tiresd of being kept down by people that i have no longer have respect for.  I cannot change them or make them recant their wrong doing . I can only move forward and learn from this situation and trust my Master and my gut instints on such persons in the future. Learning from the past to live a positve and self confident life is what i want to strive for. now is the time to let go and move on. I'm not perfect by anymeans and i have alot to learn yet about life but i do know this, i'm a good person and i do not wish dishonour to my master or anyone else but i will not honour those anymore who do not deserve it.

I don't think I actually see failure..I tend to see situations that didn't turn out how I'd hoped or maybe expected......so I work on why they didn't. I don't see the necessity to regard oneself as a failure.Mostly we work with what we have at the time.

So, something didn't work out. Given the exact same set of circumstances, the same situation would probably occur .....the bright spot here is that it is rare for EXACTLY the same circumstances to occur...lol

A toddler isn't a failure because he topples over time and time again...he's just in a set of circumstances at that moment in time... circumstances change and so do we.

What have you learned from failure? What do you think you should learn from failure?

I learned not to completely let my guard down and trust someone until I've known them in excess of 10 years - it's about the only way I have to be certain that the Mask isn't going to come off and disclose a complete stranger inhabiting the body of someone I Thought I knew.

I learned not to take anything (even myself) at face value - it's a good way to end up shocked when you find out you've missed some crucial detail.

But perhaps most importantly - I've learned to pick myself up, dust myself off, thumb my nose at the rest of the world, and continue living.
