Nope, he was out here telling us what a great fuckin bunch of guys W and the republicans were.

Like the Republican Congress had theirs up Bush's 2000-2006 instead of exercising some oversight.

But they were too busy masturbating to their "permanent Republican majority" fantasy to find their spines.

[Oddly, that's usually a criticism I have of Democrats--no spine.]

I cannot argue with one word you said MM
The dems are useless too
I really liked Weiner, but his inability to understand that denial and lying just makes things worse really disapointed me, bloody fool.
I certainly aint kissing their rear ends

That's about it...

They PROMISED Jobs, but they haven't sent a single Jobs bill to Obama to be signed...

mnottertail -> RE: The Disgusting Record of o'Dumbo (6/11/2011 12:45:55 PM)

And FYI there is a record deficit under the watchful eye of the fiscally conservative house.

LOL.  Uh oh, like they say, it is gonna be about the economy, they better catch up to what they are saying, their words run faster than their brains.

Well, to be serious, they'd have to start with defense, and that ain't gonna happen.

tazzygirl -> RE: The Disgusting Record of o'Dumbo (6/11/2011 2:00:14 PM)

They are so worried about who may invade, they miss the fact that there may not be anything left to invade.

Moonhead -> RE: The Disgusting Record of o'Dumbo (6/11/2011 2:44:09 PM)

And that a military is no use for defence when it's off playing in the middle east, of course.
That is always the excuse the Repukes trot out for throwing money at the armed forces with both hands and blowing stupid amounts of the budget on development funds for military contractors who are never going to produce anything useful (or even viable in the case of the late lamented SDI) isn't it? Defence.

Sanity -> RE: The Disgusting Record of o'Dumbo (6/11/2011 8:20:18 PM)

A "jobs bill"?

Youre joking, right?

Government doesnt create real jobs, only the private sector can do that. Government has to leach off of the real producers, it has to rob us citizens in order to exist and because of that governments primary responsibility is to remain as small and obstructive to the private sector as is humanly possible.

The reason there are no jobs is that government is already far too big. Its creating too much regulation and bureaucracy and  and is siphoning far much wealth away, and destroying our competitiveness in the process.

Funny thing, the private sector has added jobs steadily since at least last september. Unemployment is not going down because of government layoffs. The government you're so gung ho to see shrink is shrinking and the effect is that it is prolonging the recession.

Fine then. The job loss indesputedly created by deregulation (as calculated by those who do this for a living, not congressional staff or corporate paid 'think tanks') is proposed by you as the miracle situation where the cause is put forth as the cure. And all the while you argue for more of our cattle going to the trained attack dogs of corporate beneficiaries.

Be careful that the dogs wandering onto property deserving shooting as a solution being alluded to in that other post does not come into play too literally here.

Inveterate stupidity is the vermin of society in this day, and more and more people are running out of patience with your ilk, considering the seemingly neverending resultant damage.

Watch your back.

You're joking right? No one could possibly be this blinded by their own ideology could they?

So being a cop isn't a 'real' job? Or being in the Coast Guard isn't a 'real' job? Or the entire apparatus of the judicial system, up to and including SCOTUS is populated by wastrels who aren't doing 'real' jobs? Or any one employed delivering any social service from cleaning the streets to the health services aren't doing 'real' jobs? Or any one in vast US military apparatus isn't doing a 'real' job? Some of them are dying for their country but that isn't a 'real' job is it? Or Veterans' Affairs? Is everyone employed in these sectors (to name just a few) a parasite living off the taxpayers' back? Need I go on or is the point clear enough already?

Please stop parroting this self-evidently absurd, ideologically-driven drivel Sanity. You can do better than this.

OK, so that bit of manic incoherent frothing at the mouth didn't cause your head to spin, but my response to it did.

That speaks volumes right there.

In any case the reference to the property intrusion relates to this post,

http://www.collarchat.com/m_3716579/tm.htm

which I probably should have included for clarification.

BTW, I am in sympathy with his plight in that episode, his misunderstanding of the ultimate cause notwithstanding.

Let's take it one at a time. I was answereing to the incoherence and complete lack of understanding or awareness in someone stating that the problem is regulation when the fact is that the US has been on a deregulation binge for 30 years already.

If you would be more specific than "scratches head" I might be able to answer other questions.

Hangovers suck, don't they?

It's kind of muddles the issue to use the pit bull incident to relate to your point. Just spell it out why don't Ya.  I would agree with sanity though, regulation is a problem, at least in part. And government does not create jobs unless they are government jobs.

And yes......hangovers suck

The fact of the matter is that you are too stupid and incognizant of actual events to see that the 30 year deregulation program is what got us to where we are today. Yet you argue for more of the same.

Did the government invent CDOs or CDOs squared or synthetic CDOs or synthetic CDOs squared? Did the government 'regulate' investment banks to do any of that? Did the government force credit default swaps into existence?

In fact none of those things were under any oversight whatsoever due to several deregulation efforts. States could not even enact any laws to counteract predatory lending due to being strong-armed by the hardly regulated predatory lending industry and the inept and bumbling credit rating agencies combining to strong-arm them into backing down in their efforts to protect their own citizens.

Drunkards always wake up wanting more of the same, understandably oblivious to either preceding or subsequent damage inherent in that.

Musicmystery -> RE: The Disgusting Record of o'Dumbo (6/12/2011 6:52:41 AM)

House Republicans rode into the majority on campaign promises to “focus on jobs.”

Sanity -> RE: The Disgusting Record of o'Dumbo (6/12/2011 9:21:29 AM)

Quit scratching.

Their fuzzy logic dictates that the government should just hire everybody and pay us all a thousands dollars an hour. That would solve every economic problem weve ever had to deal with...  [;)]

Dont try to understand them. Just shake your head, and walk away.
