check all that apply.

A friend of mine- and I do mean a friend- not me - is having a nervous break down over this the second time it happened.   The friend- has asthma and has to run down 12 stairs.  The door bell is hard wired.  Today some kids gang right after the ring and run and told Jenny that- some kids on bicycles just rang her bell and ran.

I want you to know that to Jenny this is yet another crises.

Anyhow- I am asking around about the state of the art for her.

Some of us did this as kids...  your response is strictly confidential.  Comments are welcome.

PA, this is another reason why you can't go to Disneyland. Who would entertain me with these silly posts?

LOL. I remember as a kid my friend and I made a prank call ... we sang "We wish you a shitty christmas....we wish you a shitty christmas....we wish you a shitty christmas and a f'ed up New Year." I felt so bad, I called them back and apologized. So no, ring and dash wasn't in my nature as a kid.

I can understand how your friend is upset over repeated ring and dashes though. A knock on the door or a doorbell ring is a trigger for me. After I left my husband, I lived with an ever present feeling of heightened awareness, anxiety and fear - that he would find us. Every knock on the door or unexplained sound outside would set me on edge. I still feel anxious to this day when there is a knock on the door - although I have a door with a huge window and a sliding glass door completely unobstructing my view of anyone approaching the house, so its less an issue now.

Winnie, you are so cute! Calling them back to apologize! That's just too cute!

I'm sure we made calls and asked the age old questions..... "Is your refrigerator running?" Or, "Do you have prince albert in a can?" I got those lines from my mother. She asked the same questions when she was a teen. I guess I'm not very original

Winnie,
I was a bad kid now and then.  I did the flaming bag of poop . ring and run routine.  He came out, looked at the burning bag, walked into the house and came back with a glass of water that he doused it with.  He was too savvy for that old trick.

as ashamed as I am to admit it.. yes, I had a bout of that cruelty when I was a kid (7-9 yrs old, roughly). I got talked into it by my 'bff's' of the time.. (yes, I was the gullible follower)

I regret it now..but now is far to late (and far too may miles) to make amends.   *sad*

(pets the greedy one)  No regrets!  There's that old saying, children do childish things...  Of course, it sounds so much wiser in Latin.
