I am as gay as a weekend in Paris and I live in Britain, I could have a civil partnership government wedding thing if I wanted to and it is nice to have the option.

The problem with the term 'gay marriage' is not the 'gay' it is the 'marriage'.  As someone else pointed out, marriage is for churches, and civil unions are for everyone else (like gays).  I personally think that now all the Catholics, Baptists and all other politically outspoken churches should now be taxed, because they have stepped out of their protective bubble of religion and started putting their stamp of "righteousness" in the political arena.  And the archaic idea of marriage really should be discarded, and a civil union take its place, IMHO.  This is the country which is supposed to be religiously color blind, but it is far from the truth.  And as for the people who don't like gay marriages, for hundreds of years it was illegal for whites and blacks to marry - but no one thinks that is wrong anymore (well, MOST people in North Carolina don't have a problem with it...but I think there are probably some places I could still get my ass kicked for that statement) so if we just wait awhile, this will be commonplace in another decade or so. 

Now...about my upcoming nuptials with the 9 year old girl across the street next week...THAT is something that will take another 40 or 50 years before people see me as normal...

(NO! I am not a pedophile.  I made that statement as a prediction of future society. In 1950, if you had said that whites and blacks would get married, or homosexuals would be marrying, people would have thought that you were on drugs.)

Now for benji, we need to send a Jenna look-alike to Toronto, and just as he thinks he has what he wants, she should roll over and beg benji to top her...lol.  Bad Dog! :)

I received a phone call from the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) Friday evening, informing me that the subject of gay marriage is going before Congress once again on, I think she told me, June 5.
 
I fail to understand why so many have a problem with this.  However, Master and I, after listening to countless comments from Focus on the Family, the CWA, Jay Sekulow (if that's how you spell it) and others, have learned a few things. 
 
1.  According to these people, the "marriage" Master had with his ex wife, who cheated on Him constantly and made His life a living hell for four years, was a "real" commitment, because they were legally wed.  The relationship He and I have, however, is not.  Never mind that we've been together six years and we're more committed to each other than most people we know.  We don't have that piece of paper that says so, so it's all fake.
 
2.  According to these people, "real" marriage is between a man and a woman for the purpose of procreation.  If this is true, then Master and I, and all those other couples who have no intention of ever having children together, should not be allowed to get married either.
 
3.  Homosexual men are too promiscuous.  I'm inclined to believe this one, but in no greater proportions than are heterosexual men.  Face it, there are a lot of horny men out there, and sexual orientation really has nothing to do with it.
 
But the one thing they keep saying that is just beyond stupid is this one:  That gays should not be allowed to marry because the population will decline.  Hello????   They're afraid people who aren't having children now will continue not having children and the human race will die out?

Marriage is not a religious institution. Marriage is one of those constant cultural traits that all cultures have in common, and many cultures (Native American cultures for example) have acknowledged gay marriage. Soooooo since marriage is not a religious institution the religious argument against gay marriage does not wash... just my opinion
