Ever notice how it's the people who come to the boards, proceed to make an ass of themselves, are then the ones who always start bitching about the clique? They never see that they have presented themselves in such a manner that was the breeding ground for people disliking them in the first place. Then, when they see that other people actually have <gasp> friends on this site, they get unhappy because they don't have any friends here of their own. Bonus points for bullshit when these same folks get on threads to announce how much support they receive on the other side through email about 'how glad somebody is complaining about the clique'.

The whole thing is so transparent it's beyond ridiculous.

My best friend and I routinely go months without speaking to each other or seeing each other. We both have busy lives and things happen. Sometimes it's family stuff, sometimes it's work stuff, sometimes it's his ADD making him a space cadet and forgetting he said he'd call or visit. Yet, our relationship couldn't be stronger. We can pick up the phone and call each other and it's as though the months spent apart didn't happen. We're just as close as we ever were. He has told me I am not only his best friend, I'm the only person he considers a friend as opposed to an acquaintance. He's my brother from another mother and I'm closer to him than to anyone except my husband. By the OP's logic, he can't possibly be a "real" friend because we don't talk to each other every day. I call bullshit.

OTOH, my cyber friends are miles away and some of them I've never met in person. However, they have helped me through break-ups, checked on me when I'm sick, made me laugh and lightened my mood when I'm stressed, and some of them I trust almost as much as my best friend. I've done the same for them. I communicate with some of them almost every day and others a couple of times a week. Either way, we have contact. Again, by the OP's flawed logic, we can't be "real" friends because we've never met in person. Yet, we are doing all the things friends do for each other. Again, I call bullshit.

What's clear to me is that the OP is throwing a temper tantrum because he got mod spanked for being a jerk. It doesn't matter what the person referenced in the OP is doing that has kept that person away from the site. It only matters that the person has been a friend to us and we care for that person. I'm seeing a distinct lack of "mastery" in this whiny little thread. Oh wait...it's cyber mastery, so I guess it's not real mastery in the first place.
