My first name means, "beloved" or "friend", and my last name means "cross", which I like, because I'm pretty religious.

Cross.... maybe it means angry... or to go from one side of the street to the other .... or maybe it means to do something bad to someone else and piss them off..... Hmmmm... so many options. :)

My first name is Chantal, french in origin and means "place of stones".   Didn't start being used as a surname until the early 20th century, before that is was a last name.

My middle name is Therese, this time Greek origin meaning "harvester".

My lsurname is a bastardisation of "Blanchard"or "Blancard", French origin meaning  "white and brave".

My full name means "Bright fame of the little muddy village"

Actually the last name isn't exactly accurate, it's an Anglicization of the original Norman, which derives from the Danish and means "illegitimate son of Gorm" so my name actually means

Bright fame of Gorm's little bastard.

I rather like that. [:D]

AneNoz -> RE: what's in a name? (6/27/2011 1:05:56 AM)

As is tradition in my family I am possessed of many names.

My given name is of three parts: Aneka Atiya Melek as chosen by my mother. My first given name is a Russian variety of a name which is in origin Hebrew and has a meaning of "Merciful". My second given name is in origin a name of Arabic descent with a meaning of "Gift", and my third given name has a meaning of "Messenger" in Turkish.

My surname is not as a family name, I alone of my family bear it. It was chosen by my father for me at my birth. It is of origin Spanish and has the meaning of "The new sunlight".

Thusly my name in complete holds the meaning of "Merciful is the gift of the messenger of the dawn."

My initiation name is Ain-Ife-Usat, which holds the meaning of "Priceless is the love of the the Goddess of the Throne." This name is mine for worship.

As well I have a hidden name known only to myself, my priestess, and the father of my daughter. It's meaning is "Sweetest dream of the daughter of the Earth and Sky who mourns." This name is mine for prayer. My Goddess knows me thus.

Be at peace
Aneka
