You so don't understand even the basics of economics.

Is Fukushima Radiation Killing Babies In Philadelphia?

We will never know, hunkie lost the gieger counter.

The other thing is on debt-  it can never ever be repaid.  because the interest can not be created to pay it.  the interest itself would have interest on it.   and thus it is not mathematically possible to ever pay it.

That's complete nonsense.

The national debt can be paid back by the government simply taking in more than it pays out for a period of years. As each treasury bond comes due the government could pay the bond holder out of surplus income without issuing new debt.

In fact, in the past, it has been.

What a time to lose your geiger counter....

Which is it?   Your thread- you state that the crises is being understated.   Now you claim this is BS.

Musicmystery -> RE: Large areas of Japan are contaminated (6/17/2011 11:43:11 AM)

There's a WHOLE lot of ground between those two points, your Tinfoilness.

For radiation from Kukushimi to get to Philadelphia, literally the other side of the Earth, would be for the radioactive particles to have gotten into the jet stream. What agency is moving very heavy particles that high?

pahunkboy -> RE: Large areas of Japan are contaminated (6/17/2011 4:25:33 PM)

I dont know.  Maybe we could study how rain forms- radio active isotopes.  Chernobyl did some damage.  This accident is alot worse.

It is on you to take responsibility for your health.     There is alot to learn about how nukes spread risk.    A volcano takes down flights- blizzards crippled cities- this is before the poisons are in the air.

Chernobyl did damage in the immediate vicinity and down wind. No significant radioactive material got into the jet stream.

The Icelandic volcano also was strictly a local wind pattern affair. The dust made operating jet turbines hazardous.

Nuclear power plants can only cause radioactive harm if the core's containment is breached, the primary coolant is vented or the spent fuel is exposed to the environment. None of those by itself will put radioactive particles into the jet stream.

There are legitimate things to be concerned about but you won't hear about those from Jones. Jones is strictly in business to make money off people who are easily scared.

Ken,  anyone who wants to look around

http://whatreallyhappened.com/     They mention the Japan spill.   Scan it if you want- if you dont want to explore it - not a problem.

I doubt there is anything we can do about any fall out that may exist. It isnt like we can push a button and it will stop.

defiantbadgirl -> RE: Large areas of Japan are contaminated (6/17/2011 5:42:30 PM)

First Japan and now Nebraska (directly above my state). I fuckin hate nuclear power plants and wish they had never been invented. What the hell is wrong with some people that they would rather risk radiation poisoning and have radioactive waste that's deadly for thousands of years than use something safe and effective like wind power? People complain they don't want windmills because they don't like the way they look. That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard. Why not design windmills to be more visually appealing instead of contaminating the planet for thousands of years?

DomKen -> RE: Large areas of Japan are contaminated (6/18/2011 7:03:35 AM)

More details emerge about Fukushima

Note for a certain paranoid poster, this is not cause to think radiation has spread more than several hundred miles from the site. There is no need for anyone in rural PA to stock up on Potassium Iodine or sweep their home with a geiger counter.

pahunkboy -> RE: Large areas of Japan are contaminated (6/18/2011 8:30:00 AM)

^  Actually this would not effect me.  My thyroid is already trashed.    When more people get thyroid problems we can revisit the issue.

mnottertail -> RE: Large areas of Japan are contaminated (6/18/2011 8:30:23 AM)

have you found that geiger counter?

pahunkboy -> RE: Large areas of Japan are contaminated (6/18/2011 8:31:54 AM)

No.  I am not worried enough to look for it.   I am sure it will show up - if I go to move.
