I mean, fairly consistently?

I was watching season 4 of Stargate: Atlantis this evening. There's a scene where Col. Samantha Carter, a scientist, and another Colonel, who captains a starship, were discussing how many hyperspace jumps it would take to get somewhere.
Colonel: "37 jumps."
Scientist: "Space is quite vast."
Colonel: "You don't say..."

That cracks me up every time. My father used to say goofy shit like that all the time. I remember as a kid we were driving along the lake to my aunt's cottage near Putneyville, upstate NY.
Says the old man: "Look at that! The water comes right up to the shore!" I would have been rolling on the ground, were we not in a car.

Ok, go ahead...

when I was a kid, the local police officers wore those old-fashioned pointy helmets.

My dad always said "I wonder if his head goes right to the top of that?".

That cracked me up every time!

But about 10 years ago we went to London for a few days, and did the usual tourist stuff. Outside Buck Palace the guards were there, wearing their bearskins. They aren't allowed to talk or react to people when on duty...so my dad went up to one and said "excuse me son, but does your head go right to the top of your hat?"

I thought I was going to die laughing...

Well, as Harry Nilsson said in his famous documentary, "Ya got to have a point to have a point!"

I always thought the line was "You don't have to have a point to have a point." Oblio was born pointless, but he learned this little pearl of wisdom after his trip through the Pointless Forest.

Of course, this whole post could be pointless.......

Well, my point was... I forget. What's your point? That I don't remember my point?
"Me and my Arrow...
Straight on the narrow..."

Good point, BTW...

For some reason this phrase never fails to crack me up:

Watching Abbott & Costello or Don Knotts movies.  Mel Brooks is also a great one, Blazing Saddles is one of my all time favorite movies.

It's not funny.

They do.

Human behaviour including my own.

Most lately....... a lot of people that profess to be 'good christian folk' that act anything but. I've had more mental flashbacks to the moments I see those fucktard 'What would Jesus do?' bumper stickers just in the last few days, than I can count. I think to myself......."Well fuck, if indeed the dude existed, and existed today, in this moment, he would be bitch slapping you into the next millenium."

I probably laugh at myself the most. A cute little red dog with big ears runs a close second.
