I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question or if it's already been asked and answered many times. I'm new here. My profile is "GypsyCowgirl" but for some reason the message board refused to accept my profile name and password, and I was forced to create a new name and password to get in here.

Anyway, Doms keep telling me they must see me on cam to "prove I'm real". But since I'm only looking for local Doms, and since I've invited them to come visit me in person, why should they worry whether I'm "real"?

I'm a half-hour drive from them, and what do they have to lose besides an hour of time and a bit of gas to come see me face to face? Are they afraid that I'm really Jack the Ripper posing as a female sub and will murder them on their arrival at an agreed-upon Tim Hortons? This really doesn't make any sense to me. If they arrive to find they don't like my looks or I'm different from my description, they can simply leave. I did send them several recent photos showing both face and body so they know what I look like already.

I can understand it if a relationship is long-distance so that a lot of time and money would have to be invested in meeting face to face. If that was the case, you'd want to make sure the other person was who they said they were. But I'm talking to strictly local Doms who won't have to invest anything by meeting me. So what's the deal with having to prove myself on cam?

Some people on various sites like to pose as they were years ago and not be completley forthcoming in the fact that they are perhaps heavier and you don't find out till the meeting takes place. I speak from experience when I say this.

Are you all saying that these Doms never had any intention of meeting a real sub? They only want to look at her on cam? Not to actually hold her and play with her and touch her in real life?

I'd never considered that some Doms don't really want actual physical interaction. It seems counter-intuitive somehow.

I had a lot of Dom men do this to me when I was looking. ie:

You're assuming that they're Doms. A lot of the guys that hit up newbies do so because they're an easy target, not because they're looking for D/s. You'll also get guys that want to meet you in real life because they think you're an easy score. Be aware that these guys often use the "You're not a real submissive" to blackmail you into doing what they want.

More advice would be to hang around the message boards, read what is being said and learn a bit more about WIITWD.

But in essence, treat a D/s relationship in the 'getting to know you' stages just like any other. Don't be pressured into sex, playing or any of that other stuff until you're sure the guy is who he says he is, and you have got to know each other.
