OP,

I wish I could make it better for you.

When mom moved to Chicago and I moved across the river-  I had to re-gain my composure.

I introduced myself to my new neighbors... and  a few of them are very easy to talk to.

Over time-  it came to dinner and TV together.

I am not one to get to bars...  I would be lost with out my one neighbor.  We talk every day- we have gone to church together.

So-  my best guess is sometimes when you reach out- that person will reach back.

:-)

BTW-  people online here too- I am blessed. Posting- banter-  it makes the world a nice place.  You guys ROCK!

If I ever felt lonely, it was usually when I had nothing to worry about.
Everyone's needs have been tended to, the shopping is done, bills are
paid and the budget is set for the following month, I've lent all 10 of my
ears to family and friends, fulfilled my obligations at work, etc.
I used to despise the feeling of not being needed.
Now I take full advantage of it and treat myself to a one woman adventure,
like taking road trips to look at deserted plantations and such!!

Now that you mention it... yeah.

When things are shit, that's not a situation I would want anybody to have to share. If I think about it at all, I'm glad it's just me. But when everything's good, no problems, house looking perfect, maybe a candle or two, fire in the fireplace, and I look around and realize that there's nobody I care about to share it with, that really is when I do feel most alone.

Where's that damn cat?

i tend to feel loneliest when things ARE going downhill, just because i've never liked the "me against the world" feeling.
when i don't know how i'm going to afford (insert important and totally necessary thing here), or there's something else severely stressing me out, sometimes i need someone to talk to, or a hug. and if there's no one there to give that, then i feel the loneliest.

i don't feel lonely anymore. i used to as a teen because i wanted to know what it was like to have someone to actually love me. i was lonely for what i thought i wanted.

after 16 years living with someone i'm back to enjoying my own time. i do have the boy here but he's 17 so will spend the day out, or he's up in his room. we do spend time together and have a film fest and such, see to the animals together, go for walks or just sit and chat. i speak in some form to my pm most days and see my friends at some point through the week. i work with alot of people so by the end of the day i can't wait to be on my own.

when i did suffer loneliness i would wallow in it for a couple of days and then go for a good gallop.

(((hugs))) Lilly, get a big stick and beat it into submission.
