ashjor911 -> can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/20/2011 5:07:27 PM)

As one of them I have to ask this for anybody who knows any information about my question above,
I am also going to the (IOM) in the morning, to see what is really my rights,

Wish me luck

Aneirin -> RE: can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/20/2011 5:45:57 PM)

A very good question and one that seems to not have an easy answer and that because the United Nations have failed to define what exactly is a Palestinian refugee. Furthermore, the Arab League has instructed it's members to deny citizenship to Palestinian refugees to avoid dissolution of identity and to protect their right of return to their homeland, so where Palestinian Refuees might be in other Arab states, their existence is precarious.

This can't be right can it ?

So those fed up with the situation in the occupied Palestine territories, the Gaza strip, West Bank and etc, can't actually emigrate on refugee status and become bona fide citizens of other Arab states, as it has been suggested both nearby and outside of the situation that the Palestinians being Arabs actually do. It is not as simple as that.

The plot thickens !

You're in Germany so clearly you or your parents migrated to get there. You can apply for admission to another country but I doubt you would get in as a refugee.

Termyn8or -> RE: can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/20/2011 6:25:49 PM)

Yup, Germany really doesn't produce many refugees. Wonder why.

FR

Anyone could move anywhere, but without legal status, it might not be the best thing to do. Like here, if you are a certain type of people you can make it good here. Same with any country. People all over the world want to come here, let me tellya, it ain't that good. The only reason is that some places are worse.

What country would be your target ? I have considered emmigrating more than once, and each time I find something that I simply don't want in other countries. European gun laws, requirements of personal liquidity, sometimes the lack of dual citizen status being available, other things. As such, I am still here.

It might not be religious, but to some extent like the Jews, Palestinians seem to consider that area home. If so, there is no moving on out, it will be a war to the death. That's the way it is, at least for some. You can't fight that.

And I really want to know what's wrong with Germany, is it the denier laws ? That you can't speak your mind ? That is no reason because whether or not denial laws exist, people are one sided and will shun or whatever those who speak against the status quo. In some countries it is institutionalized, that's all.

So really, I wonder what is the basis of your desire to move from Germany. It is one of the best places to live in the world except for a few things. In short - WHY ? They have work, they still have a somewhat viable middle class. To prosper there you must study and gain skill, and really I don't know if education is available to all. Is that the problem ? Really, if I lived in Germany, I would try to get used to it. The economy here is totally fucked, the UK is just as bad, what's left ? Iceland ? In fact you might like Iceland, Bobby Fisher did. I know their banks had a problem with the IMF or something not too long ago but who cares ?

Not just why you might want to emmigrate, but where ? Think about it, I have. I have decided to stay right here.

T^T

Aneirin -> RE: can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/20/2011 6:46:12 PM)

Perhaps of interest or not, but all my friends of my school years have emmigrated, they are in places such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada, countries where it is deemed they have a future, where in the UK, that is questionable, as this place does appear to be going so far down the pan, that even Asian immigrants to here are emmigrating to the aforementioned countries, which I know for sure the Aussies are not too happy about, and that they blame our lax immigration laws. But British are British, you have the points necessary, you are welcome, ideally ethnicity irrelevant, but there are always the closet racists who define based upon such notions as dissolution of cultural identity, which in Austaralia's case is a nonsense, just Like America's because their society is actualy made up of immigrants from the four corners of the world.

I believe the emmiration from this country is about two million a year, but that number far exceeded by the number of emigrants into this country, but those that emigrate from here tend to be of a higher educational and employment standard wheras many of those that come in are of a lower educational and occupational standard, which to some, is we are bleeding our country dry of our future hopes and aspirations, the skills are heading overseas for better living conditions mostly.

But as immigration is a sore topic, I wonder at those who are quick to deny the immigrant, would they themselves emmigrate.

As to the OP, Ashjor has asked about Palestinian Refugee status, and as that has not been defined, what hope for the Palestinians with nowhere to go ?

With nowhere to go, what is the desired solution, second class citizenry under an occupying power or anihilation, a slow pogram of the Palestinians, provoke and justify action and the world lets this go on, what hope any idea of the United Nations, it is a farce simple as that.

Getting out of Syria might be more challenging. Are the border crossings into Turkey or Jordan still open? If so I'd head there. Otherwise it may be best to get out of the city until the trouble there dies down.

tweakabelle -> RE: can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/21/2011 5:05:31 PM)

Good luck ashjor! [:D]

Australia has a large intake of refugees annually but there's a long waiting list. It's worth checking out. Life is good here.

You might like to check out the possibility of emigrating here anyways. There are lots of other grounds that could qualify you - including special skills, family reunion or just a desire for a better life .... It's all at your local Australian Embassy, or the internet.

And the best of luck with that too!

defiantbadgirl -> RE: can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/21/2011 5:09:13 PM)

Don't come to the US. Too many people not enough jobs. No single-payer health care. I just read an article about a man robbing a bank for one dollar and going to jail just so he could get the medical care he needs. The economy sucks here.

Aneirin -> RE: can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/21/2011 5:26:10 PM)

Personally, if I were in the position of a well informed savvy imigrant, I would avoid the UK or the US and that because our economies or even our living conditions are fucked, symptoms of dying nations. Where I would go if I could choose in what was once called the new world, Oz, New Zealand or Canada as those places to many hold the brightest futures, but emphasis on the bottom of the world.

ashjor911 -> RE: can palestinian refugees migrate? (6/21/2011 5:51:29 PM)

I dont mean to be distespectfull about anybody`s country, but if I had to chose:
1- Germany (I know the language & its free to get a degree after you get there)
2- Austria (same as above)
3- Netherlands.
4- Norway.
6- Canada.
Dont get me wrong I love the way of the american live, talk, even think, but I never picture my self moving to US.
On the other hand, I would kill to VISIT NYC, London , Rome , ausrtalia & New Zealand.

PS: thanks for whishing me luck on monday

DK since I"ve been posting on these boards, you and your fellow Zionists have consistently advocated and defended the very things that cause ashjor's plight.

You've got a damn nerve pretending to be interested in his situation when you have contributed to causing it. And continue to contribute to creating a lot more Palestinian refugees.

Sickening.

What's sickening is your inability to realize a simple fact, I am not pro or con either side. I do however exist in the real world and have studied history and been on the ground there. Your beliefs are based on transparently flimsy propoganda.

Grow up and examine the actual facts and not what hamas etc tells you.

My brother Ashjor speaks the truth of his intent, finally!

No problem, ashjor.

It's funny, though, I have always wanted to emmigrate to some German land myself (OK, not 'always,' just the last couple of years maybe).

But seriously, no problem ashjor, just come to the US temporarily as a 'registered terrorist' (the other term for diplomacy-granted Palestinians in the US), I've got an extra bed, and either the CIA or the NSA will take you into their arms right away, and then maybe you can get me a long-term visa ins Deutschland oder Österreich.

I surely know that I need someone with me who can deal with the deutsche Sprache better than I can.
