MasterRobsalayna -> What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 6:04:54 PM)

Okay, i love reading everyone's posts and getting to know some of you here a bit by what you write, respond, play, etc.  Many of us have lines, quotes etc, in our signatures and i was just curious as to how/why you chose yours.  i'll start:

A year ago my fiance/partner died at 49.  After a year of hell and a round in the psych ward i woke up, decided that life is indeed to short, and that i needed to stop living in the past (regrets) and fantasizing about the future (not living there yet) so decided to start LIVING.  i don't live my life hurting others but most importantly i've stopped hurting me by allowing regrets to rule my life.

How about you?

Mine are pretty self-explanatory, and they change once in a while anyway....  I generally make them humourous, or at least light hearted quotes.

Yours,

benji

When I first began going through my divorce procedings(not my choice), and for several months after, I withdrew into myself and did not or could not feel anything.  It was like I had no feelings about anything, good or bad.  After 6 months of withdrawing, I couldnt take it anymore and made up my mind that I had to feel something, anything.  So, any sensation, even pain....I would embrace and get on with my life....  [:D]

Signature changes... either quotes or lyrics which reflect close to where I am or sometimes strike my fancy, catch my eye (bright shiny objects <g>)...no real deep symbolism.

I feel mine is self explanatory as well.  Basically it means that I am not going to pretend to me someone I am not just so someone will like me.  What you see is what you get.

BreakingGlass -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 6:44:26 PM)

The masochist in me likes to be hurt with the occasional bad movie or two.  I like to pick out the type of line that makes me groan.

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 6:47:53 PM)

My quote changes frequently.  It's usually a song, movie, or regular quote that draws me in and appeals to me.

Mine is just an observation that my three year old wee one felt compelled to tell me around two in the morning.

I pick a few, but try to make my own.

mine is a saying that was branded into my paddle, in latin. for months i had to learn both the english and latin, and now when i am punished i am asked to recite it over and over again.

"Those who need punishment, take it calmly."

Wulfchyld -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 10:24:46 PM)

Need I say more?

juliaoceania -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 10:33:25 PM)

I chose mine because I am an admirer of peacemakers. It is hard to be a peacemaker and it takes courage, those who broker peace often end up the victim of violence. It takes courage to take that stand (I try to not be vindictive or vengeful in my personal life). If you want peace make it with your neighbor.

This is not the first board I have been a member of, and I have been in forum environments that invited flame wars, this is my way of trying to be flame retardant. When I have this as my sig line it makes me think about how I post. It makes me think that I should try to be an example and not flame those who try to flame me.... It doesnt always work...lol

The last reason is I am anti-war, and would love our troops to come home where they belong.

Rumtiger -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 10:47:37 PM)

the first is an explanation of my personality and my name, it was first earned when I was 14 from my old sensei in CA who was able to see how my style was forming up, and in this lifestyle it goes into what I turn into when in play.

The second is something I heard Tarintino say in a show a while back, basically, I love fighting kickboxers and TKD practitioners...theyre so cute when theyre on the ground lol.

Gauge -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 11:18:35 PM)

Mine is fairly obvious however, I am thinking I might change it to something else soon.

When I read Moby Dick this quote lept up from the page at me and hit me like a ton of bricks. I think that it is an interesting comment on humanity.

The second one is just a bit of silliness.

HarryVanWinkle -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/15/2006 11:24:45 PM)

I believe mine is completely self explanatory.

SweetSarijane -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/16/2006 5:45:42 AM)

Mine reflects my view of life and I love Aerosmith. I've changed it a couple of times as I feel I needed to and will likely change it again at some point.

shivvy -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/16/2006 6:22:06 AM)

i dunno, i spose mine is self explanitory as well, and i always end my emails on yahoo and stuff with it to[:)]

slaverosebeauty -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/16/2006 8:15:15 AM)

I found mine on my mento's page on another site, she said the author was 'unknown.' Its beautifull so I use it.
The Equptian slave quote is from a book I have around the house, I wrote it down years ago and I found it after I got activly involved in this lifstyle so it's fitting.
quote:

"I am your servant.
I shall not be free.
You will protect me;
you will keep me safe;
you will guard me.
You will keep me sound;
you will protect me from every demon."

An Ancient Egyptian woman's slave contract
with the priests of Saknebtyni

The sig on my offsite account is from "Practical Magic"
quote:

"I dream of a love that even time will lie down and be still for. "
~Sally Owens, Practical Magic

alayna would like to thank E/everyone, this is fun and enlightening.

Saraheli -> RE: What does your signature/tag line mean? (5/16/2006 5:07:01 PM)

My signature changes from time to time, but it is usually a part of a poem that either of my two friends or I wrote.
