Recently, I was trying to describe a telephone book to a 25-yr-old co-worker. She couldn't fathom why people would want to just give their numbers out to be published in a book that anyone could just look in. Same co-worker, when I mentioned the days where I didn't have an answering machine. (Horrified) "How did you know when someone had called????" Uh, they called back? "No call waiting!?!? What if you called someone and got a busy signal???" You tried again later? I was going to tell her about rotary dial, but I was afraid she'd have to be hospitalized. [&:] Remember charades? Where you started by pantomiming "movie" by pretending you were holding a camera in one hand and making a cranking motion with the other hand? We tried that once, and the young ones didn't know what that meant. They pantomime "movie" by pretending they're holding a dvd, dropping it in a drawer, and pushing a button. I'm going with the "You know you're getting old" thread title theme......if this is really supposed to be about Isaac Hayes, I beg forgiveness for the horrible threadjack [:)]
