And here I was thinking LadyC is not that much of a sadist !!

That honour belongs to LaT, she found that delicious "quivering, bound while my mighty fist is inserted" post again and linked to it.

But credit where credit is due, for one handed typing, his fiction wouldn't be too bad, I mean it would be a great parody (I'm thinking Disk World and such) but he seems to take it dead seriously. The journal is quite amusing...

barelynangel -> RE: Fibro, school, house of 6 (7/16/2011 7:03:39 AM)

I am not talking about legally i am speaking ethically.  But you keep speaking of legalities -- i know law which is why i didn't say you violated copyright, however, you stole his photo, you altered it without permission to make fun of him, and now you are quoting legalities trying to make it okay.

At the very least -- i believe it IS against the TOS, even if its not against the copyright laws.  AS you are utilizing same to attack someone.

Please continue to show your definition of integrity.

So now you take someone's pictures and edit it and put it in a discussion so people can go see you really have no integrity.  Did you get permission to use his photo but alter it? I didn't quote it because i don't think what you are doing is correct but your 1074 is the post with the lolkj and links to a photo.

I would think many of the people on this discussion won't think that is funny at all as many of them have issues with people stealing photos and with the altering of stolen photos.

Just becuase its a guy many people don't respect doesn't make it right.  As well as you sure the hell have judgment against this guy, perhaps you should concentrate on your own integrity before trying to speak so negatively about someone else.

angel

oh cool you wrote more.

well i was altering his photo to do a mashup parody with that old chick. i notice you don't care that someone posted that old chick's photo. personally i would find it more cruel to compare me with arturas than to compare me with the old chick so she got the bad end of the deal.

um let's see what else. this thread is on page 53 or 54 or something. and there are a lot of words in it making fun of OP's ex. i used a picture because it is worth a thousand words but there are well more than 1000 words in this thread so just imagine that i wrote a thousand more. in picture form.

btw you spelled loljk wrong.

oh well ethically i see it as no different from when i called him a twat.

if it as against tos i will take it down. in fact i will do it now.

ok there

oh wow she looks really pretty there. and she's a dame and all.

now i feel bad :( she doesn't deserve that.

barelynangel -> RE: Fibro, school, house of 6 (7/16/2011 7:09:22 AM)

You were using his photo to attack him, and such which is against the TOS, the fact you used his photo without his permission is lacking in integrity.  The fact YOU COULD ASK HIM for his permission is why i comment on your use of HIS photo.  The fact that you didn't ask him if you could use his photo and alter is shows a lack of integrity.

You can continue to make excuses which is fine.  You can continue to say but but other people are doing A, B, C.  In fear of sounding like a parent -- excuses don't make what you did right and if everyone else jumped to their deaths would you do it too?  OF course these questions are rhetorical.

lol why would i ask someone's permission to make fun of them?

i took it down though so you should be satisfied. unless you just want to lecture me some more. that thing about jumping to my death really made me like stop and think. mostly about chicken. but also about beinga leader not a follower and why its ok that my mom didn't get me a cell phone when i was 15.

loljk im still mad about that.

She was stunning when she was young, though her novels (only read one and found it incredibly stilted) were all about chaste heroines and other such tripe.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Fibro, school, house of 6 (7/16/2011 7:21:16 AM)

Her novels were very sweet, I thought. (I got through three, I think...yay library) lots of sexual tension disguised s lurrrrrve.

I admit that I am addicted to this thread.

Tammy, check the Big Lots for those plastic tote boxes, they are fab for packing! And you can sit on them when they're full!

LadyConstanze -> RE: Fibro, school, house of 6 (7/16/2011 7:34:47 AM)

I found an excerpt, call me a cynic but I fail to see the sweetness...

quote:

He had for so long associated with sophisticated women who belonged to the raffish and rather fast set that surrounded the Regent at Carlton House that he had forgotten, if he had ever thought of it, that there were girls as pure and innocent as Alexia.
But in his soul he knew that this was what he had always wanted in his wife. [...]
"I love you, my darling!" he said. "I love you so overwhelmingly, so completely, that it is going to take me a lifetime to tell you how much you mean to me."
"I love you ... too!" Alexia murmured. "But there do not seem to be enough words in which to ... express it."
"I told you your vocabulary was limited," the Marquis said with a smile. (Problems of Love, 146-147)

Though it does remind me of something I recently read ;)

LaTigresse -> RE: Fibro, school, house of 6 (7/16/2011 7:47:24 AM)

Wellllll.............there is the matter of pure and innocent also. I believe in this particular case I could find more fitting adjectives.

Ahhh no, but you know the quivering virgin getting awoken by a kiss of the hero reminds me very much of the quivering and bound slave awaiting the mighty fist (though unfortunately slave has no recollection of this at all), it's just the pompous style that reminds me of it...

LaTigresse -> RE: Fibro, school, house of 6 (7/16/2011 7:53:59 AM)

Ya, most definitely. Just my, not so inner, snark.......jumped all over the vision of pure and innocent. My habit of visual reading and all. And yeahhhhhhh, the pompous smarminess is very similar.

Someone is definitely in the wrong profession. He, or she, should be channeling all that energy to trashy novelas!

Did  you get permission to copy his stuff word for word?  If you didn't, that's not cool.  And you're just looking like an asshole.  I think it's a violation of TOS, and if it's not, it's just plain ugly.

It IS in fact a violation of the TOS - my one and only gold letter was due to posting from someone's profile word-for-word.

Imperatrixx - I usually adore you but you seem to be channeling mean today.

Arturas, I've seen a lot of posts in which you self-described as a truly great Master.

Yes Steven, but have we ever seen anybody else do that? I mean you could self-describe as Emperor of the universe, it would be just as meaningful and real....

But linking to the profile is allowed! Though I have to admit the excerpts were greatly amusing and made me go and read the journal, scared the cats and dogs by squeaking and screaming in un-abandoned mirth, pretty sure if anybody walked by, they were thinking I'm having wild sex...

imperatrixx -> RE: Fibro, school, house of 6 (7/16/2011 8:07:21 AM)

yeahhh i'm kind of not sober. its just after reading so much stupid i'm just like...fuck it...

If you cite the source correctly, it's still against TOS to copy from a profile?

It seems to me, once someone puts something in their profile or journal, it's in the public domain. As long as you cite your source, you are not guilty of stealing or plagiarism.

Perhaps admin could chime in? B/c I would like to be clear on this. I have read the TOS, and if this is specifically against TOS, it is so couched in legalize I didn't catch it.
