I do remember the Orioles were one team as they had spring training in miami. I do not remember the other. The stadium was about a mile from the Orange Bowl and was torn down about the time they built the Miami arena. re: the Cuban National Anthem: It is the national anthem of a communist country. It is aproved and beloved by the Castro brothers. If the Cuban national team is not playing, I will NOT rise for it. Would you stand for the Mexican National Anthem at a game between say the Yankees and Indians played in Cleveland or would you consider it a national insult?

Late 80's Bama. They were celebrating the awarding of an MLB franchise to miami. Rush was on the radio out of Palm Beach and just hitting his stride and becoming entertaining. I was semi surprised when he didn't pick up on it then figured out why. There were a few rumbling letters to the editor in "The Herald" which were pretty much shouted down but "El Nuevo Herald" was incredibly supportive.

I would not consider it an insult. Especially if there were some sort of reason for it. The anthem long predates the Communists, and is the Anthem of the Cuban People. Since you are unwilling to give details about the game, we can't examine what you are talking about. You have conceeded it was a special event (Held by MLB for some reason). I don't think it compares to jeering the National Anthem in the USA. Or illegal immigration. Cubans run a few large neighboorhoods in Florida. Ohh Scary.
