It's a pity he doesn't have his own company, or he could be doing important nationalistic things like giving them no bid contracts to rebuild Iraq and letting their hired security staff rape people with impunity instead.

What have the stalinist GOP been doing?  Not what they were voted in for.  Stealing others work, cant get any legal bills passed, cant do anything with the debt, the deficit. Presiding over and responsible for the largest debt in this countries history.

Just derailing and hate since they cannot argue logic and reason, they shoot the messenger.

Ahhh....yes because he called out the people who want to cut everything and keep their billionaire supporters happy and donating while the GOP endorse corp welfare.

Yea....what's wrong with a a higher tax on the wealthy....perhaps the chart below will offer insight...though since it does not support GOP think tank ideals...the gop elected officials and their supports will just say what it's not true numbers lie

Dam chart would not copy so here is the link dating back to the 1950's showing that with lower taxes on the wealthy, smallest growth ever....higher taxes on the weathly higher growth..

So, we have us a little data for the Laffer Curve, this does not bode well for the current, continuous, and untutored intuitively and factually challenged thinking of the neo-cons.

Too bad think progress uses the same coverup as all the leftie idealogues. Tax RATES dont reflect EFFECTIVE taxes after changes in deductions, credits etc.
The net effect is fairly level revenues as a % of GDP with the wealthy paying an continually growing share, and job growth after an effective tax cut with a 6 month to 18 month delay.

How many GOP Congressmen missed their oaths of office, and were illegitimately seated and allowed to debate and vote anyway, this year because they were attending a GOP fundraiser in the Capitol Building, again? Was it four or five?

And, McConnell calls for "Obama's leadership"? You mean the hyperpartisan Kentuckian fuck who only makes public statements when he comes up for air between deep throating the tobacco and insurance lobbies, who's already said his #1 priority is causing Obama to lose in 2012? Yeah, there's credibility, bipartisanship and trustworthiness in government for you. I live close enough to Louisville to have to hear about that slimy cocksucker on a daily basis and he is easily the most corrupt, unethical shit-for-brains on Capitol Hill today.

Reagan launched the class war with his "welfare queen" caricatures.

What's happening now is that that have-nots are realizing they need to fight back.

Cut welfare, cut Social Security, cut Medicare/Medicaid, cut education, defund Planned Parenthood...the list goes on. And lower taxes on the super rich even more. If that's not class warfare i don't know what is.

Um.  Technically, the responsibility for the budget has been the purview of Congress.  Obama has consistently been hands-off with things that should be Congress' responsibility - he almost lost his heath care bill by expecting Congress to do its job.

Congress has abdicated its power over the past few decades to the point where he as President has to step in to get anything done at time.  This is one of those times, when there's too much not on the table, and too much posturing to get anything done.

Ahhhh the twists and turns.  The chart shows GROWTH or lack there of.  When taxes on the wealthy have been LOW GROWTH has been dead in the water....

Spin it anyway you want......the tax system in this country which the wealthy bought through the GOP is unfair, and the GOP battle cry on being a do nothing party unless the SUPER RICH get even more tax breaks is starting to be seen as the BS it is.

How does cutting tax loopholes for the super wealthy cause more harm then taking food and healthcare from children who need it to survive.  Because their parents jobs got shipped overseas so a CEO could produce a 3% increase in revenue and then ship the profits off shore.

Of course they say (GOP and supporters) they need tax breaks to create jobs....WELL...they had the tax breaks for the last 10 years where the hell are the jobs????????????????????

The missing facts in President Obama’s news conference
...

In a bit of class jujutsu, the president six times mentioned eliminating a tax loophole for corporate jets, frequently pitting it against student loans or food safety. It’s a potent image, but in the context of a $4-trillion goal, it is essentially meaningless.  The item is so small the White House could not even provide an estimate of the revenue that would be raised, but other estimates suggest it would amount to $3 billion over 10 years.

Meanwhile, student financial assistance, just for 2011, is about $42 billion. So the corporate jet loophole — which involves the fact that such assets can be depreciated over five years, rather than the seven for commercial jets — just is not going to raise a lot of money. It certainly wouldn’t save many student loans.

Going after hedge fund managers might raise about $15 billion over 10 years, but in a different life The Fact Checker covered Wall Street and is pretty certain those financial wizards would figure out a way to avoid this tax shift. John Carney of CNBC actually outlined how that would work.

Eliminating oil and gas preferences would raise $44 billion over 10 years, according to administration figures (table S-8), so that begins to look like real money. But the real dollars are in what the president calls “tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires” — eliminating the ability of people making more than $250,000 to itemize their deductions. That proposal would raise $290 billion over 10 years.

Wait a minute, the president said he would target “millionaires and billionaires” and yet the fine print of his proposal would affect couples making more than $250,000 (and individuals making more than $200,000)? That’s right.
