No need, you are already behaving like an utter twit and if anybody disagrees with you, they are wrong. This is your standard modus operendi of late.

Oh really? You mean because you have the hots for an 18 year old brat you have the hots for comes along and says everybody who doesn't think fireworks and explosives are funny is lacking a sense of humor. Calm down, the brat is not going to let you watch if she ever finds a girl.

I never said anybody who disagrees with me is wrong, but apparently only when somebody lounges on a park bench without work they are qualified to have an opinion, others should just suck it up and accept that somebody gives you the horn so they can't be wrong... People die in that shit your little protegee finds funny, but we have to understand... Of course we are all so intolerant for not understanding or finding it funny, I know we are lacking that precious sense of humour.

As for attacking her directly, I disagreed with her, she threw a bit of a paddy, I actually found it quite funny, if that is an attack, life on a park bench must be more sheltered than it is here. But of course, if you got the horn for somebody, we must not disagree and take all the insults thrown at us in stride, because, uhhh, she gives you the horn? OK, it's possibly a rare thing for you to happen, but please give us a solid reason why your ED should be of such a concern for us?

As I explained what your little gal advocated almost lead to the loss of my house, bit of a fire, not sure if people were in the building (guess the fact that some homeless people lived there doesn't matter), hey it was just what people do for fun, have a few bonfires, it's all cool and we have to see the fun in that, what's your own property being in danger because of that, what do a few lives possibly being lost matter? Yeah, 4th grader to not go along with the joke, so much fun.

Yes we should judge people by their words an actions around here, like an adult who's behaving like an ass and insulting others, but all others have to shut up because, errr, you say so... Wonderful, just give us the title we should call you.

As for suggesting to take a step back and reassess, I suggest you stop looking at her ass and look at her words, then talk again. I guess I am showing my lack of humour again, I guess I need to rock it a bit more or have more explicit pics, ehh. Nahhh I think I can do without that. Don't let the caveman instincts she appealed at take over, brains are so not overrated...

That's funny, because you sure are using an awful lot of words not saying he's wrong.

Thanks, Emily, for coming back here & 'splainin' yourself, something you really didn't need to do. I appreciate it, since there are a couple of people here slinging shit at each other over your motives, etc, etc. Big drama!!

I understand where you're coming from, I think. I think that a lot of us here, & I include myself, need to step back & think more before we hit that "OK" button. Recently, there have been a couple of posts that I have had to go back & wipe out, since I did my thinking about it after I hit "OK". It seems to be a problem when people feel somewhat anonymous on the boards. We all say shit that we probably wouldn't say in person in someone's home. Your initial post felt inflammatory to me, but the posts just kept getting worse & worse, with nobody trying to understand anyone else. And y'all were in on the age-bashing thing, with one side calling you a child & you calling the rest of us old fuddy duddies.

My purpose with this post is not to re-hash this, but to try to understand how I might have helped to defuse things. Not sure I could have, since I had an emotional knee-jerk reaction to your post myself. As I said in my earlier post, I've read a lot of your other posts since & I've not read anything that said that you were a childish twit, so that made me curious about you.

I wish you the best & hope that you continue to post thoughtfully. And remind me to do the same, wouldja??? [8D]

Anybody who quotes Cohen in her sig deserves to be taken seriously. [:)]

I appreciated the opportunity to have my say, and while I won't be posting a lot, I do have a semblance of a life when not trapped at the cottage with the rentals, I will try to be more careful of how it might be read.

Just for you, and I think its sort of appropriate to this thread:

Ah the wars they will be fought again
The holy dove She will be caught again
bought and sold and bought again
the dove is never free.

Who are they kidding.  Save the money they use for making flyers, signs and radio air time, and put it to much better use.

Our entire county suddenly became illiterate.   Not happy with the firework shows at local parks and rivers, they have to invent home made bombs that rattle the windows and send horses into the next zip code.  I'm thinking of having a group Benadryl dosing, myself included.   Oh look at the purty rocket ma....don't worry, it won't burn our barn, it's aimed at the neighbors.

I quoted the topic in an attempt to stay on it.

So far, haven't had the issue here.  There are a number of firework stands closer to the city, but there haven't been any used in the neighborhood.

If I remember right, there are some articles that you might find through google about what you can do for your animals to get them through the loud noises and such.  We might have had some threads on it here, too.  Doesn't really solve the problem, but it might give you some tips.

Actually the vet is usually the best source for that, we got a couple of days for fireworks (Guy Fawkes Night being one), luckily I can keep the pets in the house which helps, doesn't help much with the fires, the fire brigade usually takes care of it, but one sad part is that all vets and hospitals are usually overloaded due to accidents and burns, animals and people, fire brigade maxed out...

I try to keep my pets in days before and days after, especially around New Years, unfortunately I can't do much about the wildlife, which really suffers greatly, or for pets who happen to be out. So much fun for the owners if they are missing their beloved pet who bolted in panic, oh yeah, and the issue of little fires from the fireworks... We recently (as of 2 days ago) had a fire in town, great fun, a commercial building burned down, police told us to be ready to evacuate as the wind might change, one of the main roads is still closed down, nobody knows if people were in the building, they are still going through the smoking rubble and yeah, would be nice to be able to open the window, but unfortunately the ashes and the smoke still linger. Aren't fires great fun?

Thank you for this vituperative bile-filled rant, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect example of what I meant about being an utter twit. Merci d'avoir prouvé mon point avec tant d'éloquence.

Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't looked at her profile before. You're right, she does have a fine ass. Thanks again for the head's up, I appreciate it.

You certainly have been generous to me in this post LadyC.

Thanks LP, I'm doing all I can for the dogs, the horses and wildlife though are a different matter.   We had two fires here today, not too bad, the fire department is great, they are on the fire before it grows.   This year will be bad for fires, due to the long Spring with more rain then usual, everything grew like crazy and is now dry and like tinder.  At least the winds are not blowing, thank goodness!

We've seen several deer, racoons and skunks, heading from the thick brush around the river and running in fright.  The coyote's have also been seen in daylight , looking confused.   It's usually very quiet in our little area, so I'm sure the animals are beyond hysterical.

It's a yearly thing, but that doesn't mean we look forward to it.  I know they can't stop people from shooting off the explosives, I just wish those who do, could see the damage they inflict.

I didn't attack you, out of the blue or any other way Emily.

That said, I am glad to see you finally getting what the point of Lisa's OP was. I actually sat down and came to this thread because of some horrid kabooms that happened here about 30 minutes ago (that would be about 1:30 am), that scared the hell outa my poor dog.

Add to that the fact that we have had no rain lately and stuff is so dry, well, just ugh.

Save this thread. In 20 years, when you are a grown up, you will realize what a lil snit you are being.

You are so busy trying to appear to be so much younger and cooler than the rest of us, you are totally missing the point.

But that's ok...at your age, it is your job to do that.

Own your words.
