Wow... you seriously need to get a life then...because, really life is just way to short to keep up on the goings on at FOX News, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC  or really any of them.

Edwynn -> RE: Looks like the"News" on Fox was worse than anybody imagined (7/1/2011 6:19:18 PM)

That is a good point. I'm not sure if the OP was actually saying that he religiously watches Fox news, just that he's seen enough to satisfy his curiosity about it. BTW, another poster stating that he watches 3-4 hrs. a day of network news shows somehow did not provoke such comment from you, though it certainly did from me (even though I didn't post it).

But I agree nevertheless. I don't see how anybody could regularly watch any of the programs you mention.

I just hop on the nets and see if there were any large explosions within 5 miles of my house and then move on to more interesting and informative things. It's much more efficient; you read only the items that interest you, and one can get more information from reading the articles yourself much faster than to have someone that you might or might not even want to look at reading shorter condensed and even less informative (though more inflammatory) versions of it for you.

PS

There are plenty of inflammatory and half-factual internet sites too, but unlike with the tube, it's easy to avoid them.

Yeah Ed,  He's just another dude who got pissed off at the facts thrown at his feet. The inference that there were documents in the presidential archives outing Fox Network for what it really is have been around for some time.
I watch certain programs on fox for the purpose of more fully enjoying Jon Stewart WHO ADMITS he's pseudo news. But I'll tell ya what, he's a lot funnier. But you gotta give Bill O'Reilly his due cause he doesn't even seem to realize that he's talking down to his audience so blatantly, it looks like he's baby sitting.
He has to explain his process or that he's being fair so many fucking times, he looks like Alex Rodrigues in game 7 of the 04 Pennant series begging the first base umpire to ignore his swatting the ball out of the first baseman's glove[:D]

Fox News Was Another Nixon Plot ....

Boy talk about a 4th of July revelation!

HR Haldeman Wrote the first draft of the Fox Network and it seems to have rolled out pretty much to the letter of the plan Nixon White House Henchman in Chief designed it and communicated it to Roger Ailes implemented it.
Fair and balanced .... yeah, if your "city desk" is in AREA 51!

Let me guess, PA shared his drugs with you.

Ironically, the ONLY network that I didn't see report on this story was Fox, And they are refusing to give anything but a prepared scripted statement in terms of interviews and ONLY on the condition that their whole segment be aired. Even they know that's not how the news works.
Course Fox viewer  seem pretty happy to have the shit shoveled into their heads, so I guess the truth coming out won't lose the village too many idiots.

Is anyone shocked that the White House would make plans for media use? Once upon a time (I am not old enough to actually REMEMBER them), wasn't there something called, "Fireside chats"?

26 years for a Nixon plot to go into effect. I think that is the funniest part.

Try more than 36 years, Aylee!

He'll be posting about the Bliderburgs and the Illumanti, next.  All a fucking eeebbbbiiillllll re-pugg-licannnn plot to remake the word in their own image!!!  Bastards!  [:D]

btw, found this over on youtube.  It's a clip from the final scene in the movie "Secret Honor" about Nixon.  The scene is Nixon's message to his "opponents".  If you can't understand what he is saying, cmail me .... [:D][:D]

Anybody know where that old psych article concerning symptomatic denial as a result of confrontation with the truth? Looks like this guy's in need of more than some pretend critical reading lessons

Musicmystery -> RE: Looks like the"News" on Fox was worse than anybody imagined (7/2/2011 8:11:36 AM)

That there's a long standing conservative agenda to get control of the message and politics is not news...it goes back to before Eisenhower reluctantly allowed The Family to start prayer breakfasts.

Calling it a Nixon plot is over the top, though.

Hell, there's been a "long standing agenda" for any political faction to "gain control of the message", since the origins of humanity.

As far as a Nixon plot ... even the OP's (very biased) article says that Nixon nixed the idea!

But see, Nixon is still a "boogey man" to some on the left, so I think he thought he could get away with it, and make it seem even more eebbbbiiiillll .... [:D]

At the same time, Nixon did his best to get control of the message.

But hell, every president does that. Not as insanely as Nixon obsessed over these things...but nothing to get excited about four decades later.

No need.  One simply needs to observe your posts and activities to discern both that particular disorder, as well as several other classic logical and psychological symptoms.

As has been occasionally pointed out in other threads, ridicule is sometimes an appropriate reaction to some beliefs.  This thread is an inviting target.
