At the same time, Nixon did his best to get control of the message.

But hell, every president does that. Not as insanely as Nixon obsessed over these things...but nothing to get excited about four decades later.

No arguments from me on either point, MM.

Well actually, every president doesn't have a guy who DID A FEDERAL PRISON STRETCH ALONG with 3 of his confederates doing the rough draft of a national television news network... I think it's both historically significant and a real bummer for the poor fucking saps that have been so innocently buying into a propaganda program. And incidentally, the same guy who told the president it could be arranged that the CIA and FBI spy on and harass US citizens. That's not a big deal either, is it?
Fox isn't even denying it anymore and for the time being back paddling and saying the give "the other side of the story" instead of both sides and "fair and balanced".

No need. One simply needs to observe your posts and activities to discern both that particular disorder, as well as several other classic logical and psychological symptoms.

As has been occasionally pointed out in other threads, ridicule is sometimes an appropriate reaction to some beliefs. This thread is an inviting target.

This thread is about DOCUMENTS from TWO presidential libraries. And thanks to your desperate efforts to derail the conversation, you're keeping the thread on top so more people see the part I wanted to get out.. the OP.
Thanks, and keep up the good work. I just heard there's 6 foot waves on the back shore, so my son and I are going surfing.
Thanks again for all your help[:D]

erieangel -> RE: Looks like the"News" on Fox was worse than anybody imagined (7/2/2011 9:00:16 AM)

"Fair and balanced" None of them are fair and balanced. I can't find a link to it but the other day a CNN reporter actually asked a Democratic senator why they don't just give the Republicans what they want--trillions in spending cuts in order to raise the debt ceiling and fight for the tax increases another day. Like that's fair and balanced??

"Journalists" today are poorly prepared for their jobs. They ask bullshit questions because they don't know how to investigate.

asking bullshit questions is an advertising art highly sought after today.

the one who can extract the most bullshit answers that sound plausible is where the money ball is.

Never going to the merits and mischaracterization is guvernment inspected grade AAA prime!

They "investigated" Sarah Palin thoroughly enough...

What theyre doing for Obama is better described as prostitution than journalism though

How about a President to puts an admitted unpunished tax cheat in charge of the US Treasury?

How about a president who uses taxpayer funding of the arts to co-opt artists for political propaganda purposes?

You mean ... uh ... kinda like renewing the Patriot Act and ordering the assassination of American citizens without due process?

You miss the point of your own article entirely.

Note to the "less partisan" reading this thread:

I'm not trying to attack Obama.  I'm simply showing that if someone wishes to take the ideological hard-core partisan route, you can follow the "evil" of your opponents from the present ... and as back in history as far as as you want with all sorts of loopy logic.  Such as "back to Hitler" or back to "Genghis Khan" or to the beginning with "Satan".

That's all this thread is, really.  A deeply ideological partisan's attempt to trace all that they believe to be evil to the doorstep of people who simply hold different political opinions - and take the reader along for the ride.

JUST ONCE, I want to read an account of somebody hooking one of these bad boys. In 94, I hooked a 4 footer, which was considered a huge deal then in new england at 'the dump" We were sharking for Makos and that little fucker gave a fight like a 10 foot fish.

I can only imagine what hooking into one of those giants has got to be like.

Not even close. If it were a couple of future convicts saying "gee wouldn't it be nice if we had our own network that Judge Serica wasn't on every day" that would have no contemporary importance.
But that's not what this is at all. And you know that's the case.
And you are every bit the partisan I am. Most likely more so.

I LOVE how south of long island sound if you drag something dead into your boat, the news reads 'Anglers' and up here it would read "Horrified boaters find corpse in water"

Course up here Fishermen CATCH fish.
