Fun thread, especailly as I have gotten over all that shit. Back in the day, when I did my morning crossword puzzle (in ink of course), I had to do all the acrosses before I did the downs. It was the rule. Before I left my house in the morning for work, it had to be in perfect condition. Everything perfectly clean and in it's place, or I could not leave (I am so not shitting you). Grooming, same thing, perfect hair, nails, clothes, makeup and accessories. Okay, let's face it, everything was like that. There was a way to do things and that's how they were done. No room for exceptions. Then I had kids, two in less than 3 years. I know the phrase "two in diapers" well, and that means they were both breast feeding. My perfect world crashed. I had to go with the flow, I had to deal with these tiny beings that were more important than my artificial sense of perfection. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Although like Lat, I need a clean kitchen before I can cook, I can leave dirty dishes til the next day !! I am so proud. My toilet is not always sterile. Sometimes I need to vacuum and/o dust. I have come a long way. And although I am writing this to be humorous, I am serious about that. It took me years, but I have trained myself to be less obsessive. Somethings still really bug me and always will: lights on when there is no need, kitchen cupboards standing open, drawers not perfectly shut, picture frames misaligned, well you get it. I am still quite obsessive and I know that, but I try to make it work for me instead of against me.
