That is really fucked up. The only good thing I can think of is they won't be living in a neighborhood filled with hate. I hadn't heard of the group building the houses before, but I think it's great that they are.

I'm grateful you don't sit on the bench of a probate or land court in my state in that case. In Massachusetts, they'd simply hear the complaint and IF such a 'covenant' existed. It could very well not stand up in regard to the action that was unilaterally taken. See, in my neck of the woods, they have rules and standards governing behavior in civil matters and contractual law... such as the requirement that parties at odds like this are BOTH required to mitigate damages if at all possible. Clearly that has not been done here. They simply refuses to perform on a contract.And it does not show any effort on the HOA's part to mitigate either theirs or the perspective plaintiff's. If you have another source you're getting your information from though, please feel free to level the playing field and share. The reason I say that is because nowhere in the article cited or the rest of this thread do I eve see the term 'flag pole' let alone your amusing assertion that they sent this VETERAN on his way. Or perhaps that was a poorly labeled and badly chosen hypothetical? If it was, I strongly recommend you say in future at the start of your example "hypothetically speaking .....", or perhaps "For instance, if he had entered into a covenant that specified..." ... Other people would get that you weren't hiding some information source or making things up as you go along. But since we're just engaging in smarmy jousting about how the guy inconvenienced and HOA after LOSING HIS BLOODY LEGS in defense of their interests, ideals, and if you wish to be abstract, THEIR SAFETY AND SECURITY, then I think it's abominable that with all the claims of being 'god fearing' and 'patriotic' folks from the deep south are always flaunting in everyone's faces, I have no clue why every single flag waving professor of those claimed values isn't standing at the entrance to that plat (subdivision) in a candlelight vigil till they see that their fellow Georgians honor this man;s sacrifice, even if every last one of those cocksuckers has to buy a new goddamned flag pole to match his. Up here? You can BET this wouldn't slip by the locals. There would be public outrage if all the guy could afford to do was go live in a garden shed. It's called walking the walk.

And I would hope you have read enough of my posts here to know I'm not prone to exaggeration. Most recently I had the displeasure of meeting a friend's nephew on leave from Iraq who spent the night telling us in graphic detail how much he enjoyed killing Hajis.

Did I once say ALL? Seriously now. Do not condescend to me to assume I don't believe there are worthless fucks in the military, I've met my fair share and most of them have been officers. Do not assume that I believe that every soldier is a perfect citizen. Do not assume that I believe that there are not sociopaths and other scary crazies in the military because I would tell you that of course there are. BUT, as with all of humanity, the bulk of the population are deeply flawed, but good, people trying to do the best they can with what they've got. MOST people do not enjoy hurting, let alone killing, other human beings.
