instead of asking about them, though, you chose to ask for wank material..   well done.

LafayetteLady -> RE: looking for pic set of a petite bratty sub (odd request?) (7/10/2011 12:43:55 PM)

Cut the bullshit about only taking one creative writing class during your undergrad. Even an undergrad english major has to learn character development, regardless of it referring to the great literary masters. I'm not surprised that you used a masters in english to become a technical writer.

Then you go on about how you aren't looking for anyone else to publish or read this story? Then thee story is just for you so who cares what the public thinks anyway?

Dude, you are all over the map with your "reasons" so stop acting insulted because you can't even be consistent about why you asked for it in the first place.

A first year journalism student would have had the sense to ask, "I'm looking to write something on BDSM and although I'm interested in trying it, without first hand experience, can someone offer suggestions where I can get ideas?" the reponses would have been completely different.

No, you essentially come and say you lack enough imagination to create your female character can people send you pictures. If you lack the ability to know how to proof read your work and ensure consistency, then nothing anyone else does short of writing it for you is going to help.

And yes, I am fully aware of what a "muse" is and also know it can't be found begging women on kink site to send you pictures.ou lack the ability to know how to proof read your work and ensure consistency, then nothing anyone else does short of writing it for you is going to help.

MasterShake71 -> RE: looking for pic set of a petite bratty sub (odd request?) (7/10/2011 1:14:35 PM)

I never said I wasn't going to publish it. I said I simply wasn't trying to become an "established" one - i.e., I'm not pretending to be a serious writer or contributor, just someone who might post a story from time to time as the fancy takes me. I just felt like writing a story, couldn't figure out how I wanted a character to look, and - again, read the OP - asked if people knew of any galleries that matched the generic description I gave. I said in the OP that I wasn't looking for anyone to send me pics or do pics expressly for me.

I took one class nearly 15 years ago. I say that only because the people in this thread seem to think I'm pretending to be some sort of 'real' writer. I never mentioned "muses" or anything else. Never claimed to be doing anything other than writing a story and looking for some pics that might help me decide on a character's physical traits. I don't care how anyone else does their writing - I'm not looking to be a part of the apparent 'literati' on this site. I joined, started learning more about a particular subset, which in turn made me feel like writing a story.

I thought I was doing people a favor by not writing a 10 paragraph outline of experience (or lack thereof), motivation, and every single facet of my writing credentials (or lack thereof). I guess I'm naive to think that it was enough to just say "hey, I could really use some inspiration, anyone know of any galleries of small bratty types? I've tried looking myself but I don't seem to have this site nav down straight yet and aren't finding much."

I guess I'm also naive enough to think an average person's response would be either "yeah, here's a few", or "what aren't you getting about the profile search engine?" or "dude, don't worry about nailing every detail, just focus on the action". You know, helpful suggestions about my original request. Or, simply "not my thing" or "I've nothing to offer" and just not bother posting. Wasn't expecting the butt-hurt from alleged pros who can't do much more than crack 7th grade jokes about masturbation, standard intarweb Google-fu jokes, and bloviate about their own apparent writing genius.

But hey, that's fine, whatever helps people sleep at night. I'm just glad I was lucky that poise responded before the thread was made useless.

If you just want to be insulting, fine. I simply answered the question that was asked. I know absolutely nothing about RL group meetings, and what little impression I had of them is that they were for swingers or related-type activities.

A friendly introduction to them would have been nice, but I guess that's beneath some people who nevertheless feel compelled to make assumptions and troll (badly) with insults that wouldn't work on a middle-school playground.

OK.  You're on the General BDSM Discussion board.  At the top of this section in the Frequently Asked Questions link, is the following information:

Find Munches/Events In Your Area

To find public BDSM events in your area check the Upcoming Events section or click the link below to see what’s available in your area.
http://www.bdsmresourceguide.com/munchesandgroups.html

Munches are not swingers events.  It's a group of kinky people who gather at a vanilla location at a determined time and place, usually to get together for dinner.  Think of it as a meet and greet.  If you are interested in what happens at munches, there are some very good threads in the archives right here on these boards from people asking what they should expect at their first munch.  Not really something that I should expect to have to explain to *anybody* who has "Master" as part of their screen name, but there you go.

MasterShake71 -> RE: looking for pic set of a petite bratty sub (odd request?) (7/10/2011 3:18:13 PM)

I wasn't originally looking for groups, but FYI:

Kansas:

Alternative Lifestyles in Eastern Kansas - leads to what looks like a paysite version of here, or a BDSM version of AdultFriendFinder. Not really sure how trustworthy that is.

Screams_N_whispers-MW - leads to Yahoogroup, still waiting to have join request approved.

Missouri:

Alternative Hedonistic Source (AHS) - Goes to abandoned website.

Kansas City Dominants Council - Goes to Yahoogroups site that hasn't had a message in two years.

Everything else is either not related to me (e.g. subs-only or gay/lesbian), or 3+ hours from KC, not really an option for me at the moment.

My forum name is from a cartoon. Obviously for a BDSM site that's not the first connotation for it but that's all it is, nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah, I've seen it.  I've watched My share of Robo Chicken, too.  What can I say?  I raised a son.

So the drive (a whole three hours) is too much for you?  I guess that is completely up to how much you want something and the effort you are willing to make to get it.

My thanks to GT for posting the link.

Took a class FIFTEEN years ago on creative writing? So you took a class your freshmen year in college, or more likely your senior year in high school. BUT you want us all to believe you have a Master's Degree in English. You must really think that the people on this site are really stupid and can't put two and two together. Because you see, we ARE able to spot CONSISTENCY in posts, and you can't even seem to tell what you "claim" to be the truth with any consistency.

Dude, face it, you came here looking for something and if you even passed high school english it wasn't because you were able to get your point across in writing. You want to learn how to write? Sign up for a fucking class, and this time pay attention to what the instructor tells you! Better yet, try to peddle your bullshit over at literotica.com. Those people will be only too happy to give you tons of advice. Of course, a good number of them suck at writing just as much as you probably do, but hey, you never said you wanted *good* advice.

MasterShake71 -> RE: looking for pic set of a petite bratty sub (odd request?) (7/10/2011 8:08:47 PM)

Undergrad, yes. Creative Writing wasn't a required class for my Master's, which is in English with a focus on Technical Communication.

I'm not sure why that's such a controversial or impossible fact for some of you to comprehend. You do realize some of us did something in college other than debate Jane Austen novels, right?

Yes, and when I joined I skimmed it and moved on because I was not terribly interested in groups of any kind. I figured I'd put up a personal than browse the message board for stories about experiences, techniques, etc. I wasn't the one who brought them up - someone else suggested them - and I only posted the local issues to show I'd already skimmed them and didn't find much of interest.

As for the three hour driving issue - sorry, I just find six hours of driving in a day or weekend for something I wasn't terribly interested in to begin with to not be much appealing. *shrugs*

OTOH, I do find it terribly interesting how such allegedly more intelligent and better skilled writers are wasting their time on a thread they don't seem to like debating a person they don't seem to respect using 5th-grade insults and wildly inaccurate ideas about what constitutes a Master's in English these days.

When you joined and posted an intro, *I* gave you the website URL of the largest kink group in town.  If you really wanted to know more, you could have visited it and read the code of conduct.  You'd know there are no cameras or other recording deviced allowed, a street-legal dress code unless there's a play event, and that new people are welcome to ask one of the officers for introductions.

Just FYI, in case it matters, I obtained my Master's degree in order to teach at the college level, found that it didn't pay squat, and therefore changed my career path.

So is that a bad thing?

I consider myself a more intelligent and better skilled writer, so I'll field this one.  Yay me!

Frankly, if you're not willing to do the work (i.e. 6 hours of driving), why should we? Poise helped you. Instead of saying, "Hey thanks, I'll see what I can do."  You came back and asked for wank material type photos.  And then you "oh woe is me" responded when people called you on it.

When you write, YOU WRITE.  You don't mealy mouth about how you don't have any pictures.  Here... Here is a great site for some amazing pictures.  It is what I use each semester in teaching creative writing.  If my English as a Second Language students can do it, you surely can.

If you can't find what you need there or similar places, go find some porn... 'cause that's really what you're looking for if this site doesn't help you.

sunshine

*edit - 'cause I'm a programmar kind of gal.

You don't have to drive six hours.  Master Richard's Place - the local dungeon where most events are held - is in downtown KC.  If you can't manage a FUCKING HALF HOUR drive to an event, then you're too lazy to live.  Seriously.

Well, I have a degree in English and I'm a professional writer.  I guarantee you didn't get a Master's degree from the University of Missouri without studying the classics.  I sincerely doubt you can get one from any accreditied university without doing so.  So did you get your graduate degree out of a Crackerjack box?

You should be able to understand characterization from your undergrad reading AND be able to edit your own work.  You didn't get so much as an Associate's degree without learning how to proofread a paper.  So you are either the most talented sea cucumber on the planet or the dumbest working writer in the known universe if you can't manage to edit your own story to eliminate inconsistencies.  For fuck's sake, do you send in your technical without proofing it first?  If you do, I pity your poor editor.

Your problem is not the people here, it's the internal inconsistency of your own bullshit.

Not at all. But I'll bet if you decided to write a story of any kind, you wouldn't be hard pressed to proof your work and find where you might have been inconsistent. Hell, I will even go so far as to say that if you weren't sure what you said before, you would have the intelligence to go back and check to find out. It's not even something that requires a Master's Degree, it's fucking common sense.

As SylvereApLeanan said, you don't get any degree in English without studying at least some of the classics. Shit, you can't even get an Associate's Degree without English Composition 101 and 102, which teaches the basics of writing. Every fucking high school has "continuing education classes" and there is almost ALWAYS a creative writing class. It doesn't matter whether you are writing erotica or a story about some kid who wants to play major league baseball, character development is the same in either place.

And I'm willing to bet that when you were being paid shit as a college instructor, if a student asked that question, you would have told them the same thing. If one wants to write, they do their own research, or even hire someone to do it for them. For Christ's sake, the guy could have looked at the writing section on this site to get some ideas. He didn't. Why do you think that is?
