I wouldn't worry too much about contradictions if you are just going for short stories to post to the forums but if you have an eye towards publishing a body of work (and actually getting paid) you can have a friend proof and provide feedback you. Other eyes are, generally, better at catching typos, errors of grammar, contradictions etc. Also, keep in mind the demographic for whom you are writing. Are they going to want that much description in an erotic tale? You don't want to get bogged down in so much detail that the flow of the story is negatively effected.
If you write a story that leaves your reader wanting more, consider that one in the win column. Feel free to utilize the creative writing forum here to post your story. Stories don't get a lot of hits down there, but can be used as a first volley before, perhaps, posting on Literotica or some such place.
