That Casey Anthony was found not guilty? My reaction was like "Why God why?" and "Are you fucking kidding me!" I also kinda wanted to say "I was wrong there is no God." Though I do believe in him so I didn't say it outloud.

I wondered, if I had been on the jury, would I have been able to go strictly by the law and find her not guilty because of lack of evidence, or would I have fought, based on emotion, to find her guilty. I also felt bad for the jurors, who I am sure are sicker than any of us ever will be, about having to come to that verdict. If anything comes out of this clusterfuck, I hope prosecutors will be sure to have all their ducks in a row, and be able to prove their case, before they charge someone. There is no statute of limitations on murder, so there is no hurry to charge, other than public pressure.

And they ain't kidding. The evidence was crap, and the prosecution couldn't make it stick even with a fresh session summation. That's the legal equivalent of having your arse kicked by a blind dwarf. The legal system produced a fair result because, on the balance of probabilities, there wasn't evidence sufficient to guarantee guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Get over it.

I applauded the jury's ability to separate emotion from application of the law. The prosecution didnt even come close to proving any of the charges she was acquitted on, and the jury recognized that and didnt succumb to the temptation for "justice for Caylee".

Sorry, but I had to go to Wiki to find out what you were talking about. QUICKLY updated mind you. I read the entire thing. The jurors' statements at the bottom are the most telling... basically not enough evidence to convict and they wish there had been more. Caylee's Laws are forming in 4 states (so far.) These laws would require death of child notices to be given quickly. Also, parents would have to give quicker notification of children's disapperance and so on. Tragic..... Tragic that by not notifying proper authorities, the case couldn't be made. From what little I read, it sure seems that hiding the body was intended to weaken the case..... Tragic....

I thought that the jury made a decision based upon all of the evidence that they reviewed. I was thankful to them for listening to all of the evidence that they had to listen to , some of it hard to hear and see, and still they managed to make a decision based upon the evidence instead of a decision based upon emotion. It is not a decision I would ever want to make. I believe in our justice system. I think jury duty is a civil duty, and it must be a difficult, yet unpaid, job to do in a death penalty case. I am disgusted by all of the vitriol leveled at these people for doing a thankless job... and I think insulting their intellect and calling them "kooky" is just plain assed disrespectful, nasty, crass, and Nancy Grace is a fucked up piece of crap for talking shit about them

While I know who that is, I have no personal stake in the jury's verdict. I wasn't there when the child died, I wasn't in the courtroom or the jury box during the trial. A sillier law is hard to think of. What responsible parent needs a law to tell them to report a missing child?

I have no doubt that Casey killed Caylee either accidentally or deliberately. However, a combination of freak weather and police incompetence allowed the body to go undiscovered for far too long. Since you cannot prove how the child died, you cannot convict of murder. Yes, common sense tells you that an innocent person does not hide a body after an accidental drowning, but unfortunately, common sense has nothing to do with the law. Even if the jury had convicted, she would have walked on appeal. Casey is like OJ and Van der Sloot. She may have got off this time, but she will be in jail for something soon enough, or better yet, in a morgue.

Although perhaps it will make it so that the next time some mother fails to report her child missing for 31 days & the child's remains are found, it will give the prosecution another way to jail that parent if they can't convict them of murder.
