I checked "I don't let the cat in some rooms" but the truth is, I don't let the cats in ANY rooms. They stay outside. Where cat hair isn't a problem. They handle the mice. And rats. And anything else that probably shouldn't be in my fields. Cat hair has just never been an isuue. Now. If someone can PLEASE tell me how to stop them from leaving piles of partially eaten rodents, birds, lizards, squirrels, snakes, whatevers on my porch? My cats kill enough to feed a third world country on some nights. And I gotta go bury it all each morning.

I brush my cats. That helps, but doesn't eliminate all hair. I find that dusting and vacuuming frequently is a good idea. I also found a good pet-hair remover for use on clothes. It never fails that when I have on a dark outfit, the white cat wants to get chummy with me, and when I have on a light outfit, the black cat wants to get chummy with me.

I got really lucky with Maggie, she hardly sheds at all. The little she does shed is easily brushed off with my fingers and thrown away.

I clicked the only one that applied to Me, being that I don't let cats into some rooms at all. I currently have two floors and a full basement. No cats are allowed at all in the basement/dungeon. I don't want any cat hair on the toys at all. The two bedrooms on the main floor are also not permitted. As for the two upstairs, one we sleep in and the other I use as a huge walk in closet. Nermal is the only cat allowed in our room and I probably wouldn't even go with that if she didn't paw at the door like a dog. (She doesn't have her claws out to do this, but even the pads make a racket.) She also gets over because she will wake us up if she needs to use the box and very rarely has furballs. The walk in closet room they will get in if I'm putting away laundry or something, but I chase them out. As for cat hair in the main part of the house, I have a kick ass vacuum with special attachments specifically for getting pet hair off of the furniture. For any other mess, I have to put My plug in for "The Little Green Clean Machine". That thing is awesome if they ick (i.e. furball). If somebody has a good tip for cat hair free laundry, I'll all ears. I do wear a lot of black and one of the cats (Angel) is a long haired white. There's got to be something better than a lint roller.

I like this better than the tacky-surfaced rollers, which tended to dry out or become ineffective once the surface was covered with cat har. I have leather furniture, no carpets and i change bedding. Together with vacuuming the hardwood often and using an adhesive roller that is kept in most rooms of the house lol, pet hair is not mush of an issue any more.

Speaking of cat hair, does anyone here know of any product like special shampoo, cloth wipes, spray or anything else that would reduce the amount of cat dander if there is someone in the household who has a mild allergy to cats, especially if they're on the bed?

All three get brushed daily, I use a hair thinning comb on the longhaired guy to cut down on knots. I use special antidander and shed removal between bath wipes. On the furniture I use a pledge pet hair remover, I wash their bedding weekly. I also vacuum using an Animal vacuum, and sweep and dry mop a lot.

Having sold stuff on ebay and sometimes failed to get them in a safe place from the cats on time I can also recommend rubber gloves....I still had some boxes of those in the UK from my carer past and if you wear one (or two with both hands) and then wipe over the cat fur with it, it goes off incredibly easy...so I never agreed to it when someone suggested me those rollers as I simply had the gloves and they work fucking awesome. So I am not suggesting against the mentioned rollers...its just not something for me and just wanted to add the rubber glove stuff, too...
